It was fan service and made sense in the beginning of the movie since they didn't trust each other. And outside of the Hulk, the other three Avengers can die so if you want to read deep into this, if they wanted to, they could have actually killed each other if the fight had gone on long enough.

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

Thor is not a god in this universe. The Asgardians are PERCEIVED as gods, but they're not. They can die. It's just really hard to do so. (I posted on this a few pages back).

And yes, Hulk's strength multiplies the angrier he gets.

The universal out in comics is that he can always get stronger, just needs to get angrier

Exactly. There was a whole scene in the movie that explained this.

This and yet Superman gets the hate cause he's basically "invincible," unless you have kryptonite. The Hulk is an unfair opponent. The angrier he gets, the stronger he gets and he's already pretty angry. His strength knows no bounds and he has no weakness at all. If there is an unfair superhero it's definitely The Hulk.

All that comes to my mind is to either overwhelm him with pure numbers, or find a way to reverse his metamorphisis.

The difference is that the most powerful form of the Hulk is out of control and is something that Bruce Banner tries to control as much as he can. The times when Banner is able to control the Hulk, he is much less powerful. Superman is boring, there is depth to the Hulk's character.

You must not be reading the proper Superman comics. But that's a different topic altogether.

I always bring up this Batman quote when people say Superman is boring - "It is a remarkable dichotomy. In many ways, Clark is the most human of us all. Then...he shoots fire from the skies, and it is difficult not to think of him as a god. And how fortunate we all are that it does not occur to him." (Superman/Batman #3).

                    Yes, I'm a Superman stan.

                    Now back to the Avengers...

                              WARNING: Nerdery ahead.

In the Marvel comics universe, Thor and his fellow Asgardians are the "real" Norse gods but aren't immortal, although they're extremely long-lived and difficult to kill.

Strength-wise: "Angry" Hulk > Thor > "Calm" Hulk > Thing

DC is even worse than Marvel when it comes to writing power levels consistently, but I'd put Silver Age (pre-Crisis) Superman above "angry" Hulk, post-Crisis Supes about the same as Thor.

If Thor were able to knock the Hulk down and lay his hammer on his chest, then the Hulk is helpless right?

                                Thor wins then.
