This sounds like the perfect birthday present to myself. Comic book movies are the only ones that get me in the theaters.Comment

It's going to be very, very soon after he is thawed out. That's why the movie is told from his perspective mostly, because he isn't used to the world.I don't know exactly how long (movie time) it's been since Cap was thawed out but one needs to remember that he's essentially a man out of his time so yeah it's going to take him some time to assert leadership. I bet he'll take the mantle of leadership during the final act of the movie and acclaimed leader at the end of the movie.Comment

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
I've never seen any of the Iron Man movies as i'm not the biggest fan of the movie iteration though I'll tell you that CA has some good character development and is more than just an actioneer. It's actually a bit slow for the first half hour or so but picks up nicely.
As for Thor it was pretty good and had some humor to it but I don't think it's very faithful to the original source material and the story is a little flat but as far as a summer blockbuster goes it's pretty good.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)
Yeah I'd swap CA and Thor but like you said it's close and totally agree on IM being the best and IM2 being the worst.
With so many 'out there' characters I can see this being a CGI fest with the occasional sprinkling of acting / character development so I hope that isn't the case. I guess they are going to have the 'forming' of the avengers take up a large chunk of the movies with the Thor / CA / Hulk all fighting each other etc.
My only concern is when you have such a group of totally bad *** super hero's all on the same 'team' the villain has to be pretty dam amazing to put up a worthy opponent so it'll be interesting to see how they pull that off.Comment
