Calling the super solder serum steroids is like saying all Banner got was a green sunburn from gamma radiation.

Idk, probably because it just made Captain America basically a sick fighter, whereas the Hulk turns into this gigantic green monster that likes to smash things.

He's not supposedly brave. He is. In a nutshell, Captain America is Marvel's Superman - he's good for the sake of being good. He had heroic qualities before he became a Super Soldier.

I was never a big Captain America fan but after I read Civil War, I just couldn't help but root for the guy. He's not the strongest, most intelligent, etc. but he's a HERO.

Re: The Avengers (May 4th, 2012)

Saw this over the weekend and it was the best superhero move I've seen in years. Probably best movie overall I've seen in a long time.

The comedy and character development/interaction was amazing. Writing was stellar (another top notch effort by Joss Whedon).

BTW, I've enjoyed all the prior comic movies. Iron Man 1 and 2 are probably the best (ahead of CA and Thor), but Avengers just had that writing that made the non-action scenes better.

Usually the comic movies are light on writing and plot (mostly action-ish), but Avengers blew that concept out of the water.

I was all ready a massive Joss Whedon fan (Firefly/Serenity especially), and this just added on to it. He proves yet again that he can take a group of disparate characters and make them a compelling watch.

I've always said the same thing about the hulk character...until Avengers. Ruffalo did an outstanding job as banner. I'm actually looking forward to another hulk movie now.

Ruffalo was awesome. I still have yet to see the Edward Norton one, but I liked how Ruffalo did as Bruce Banner. I'm a Hulk fan after this movie, whereas Eric Bana had me not really caring.

Agreed that Ruffalo was awesome here. I'm a big Norton fan, but Ruffalo played this the best of the three (and yes, it can be argued he had better stuff to work with here).

Ruffalo's portrayaol of the Hulk (and Joss's direction) just felt right.

Plus he frequently punched Hitler in the mother****ing face, and that's pretty damn cool.

I thought so too. I liked that Hulk's facial features resembled Ruffalo's as much as possible.

Not really. At least Banner was a world class scientist / genius and his was an accident. CA was just genetic engineering / drugs by the US government to turn a weak sick kid into a beefed up war hero.

Yeah I guess it's kinda the 'root for the underdog' type of deal. I just don't see why they would be looking to that guy as the leader when in reality like they said in the movie the other characters are like gods whereas he is just a juiced up solider with a fancy shield.

^ I always thought that would be a sick movie including him.

At the very least, hopefully he'll be within the same world as the Avengers, even if he's not a part of them.

It would've been nice to have him make a cameo in this but it makes sense since they're still in the process of rebooting Spider-Man.

I would think he's going to be in the same world as The Avengers since he always was in the comics and had a strong connection with them.

Hopefully he makes an appearance in the sequel. I'm hoping for one of those end credits scenes in The Amazing Spider-Man. I'm just not sure if it's going to happen with Sony still being the ones putting out the Spider-Man movies.

Sony is why none of that will happen, the properties aren't going to be mixed while different people own publishing and production copyrights.
