Too young. I like the 'Hit Girl' appeal and all, but that was a comic's comic. She's wicked awesome, though.

I still hope they find a way to incorporate Spider-Man, Wolverine, or Mr. Fantastic. The crew just needs a little more uniqueness, because Hawkeye and Black Widow weigh the rest down.
Won't happen. There's no way Sony or Fox are letting Disney use those characters. Plus, they aren't "traditional" Avengers anyway. They still have Ant-man, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Quicksilver, Ms. Marvel and Black Panther they can use.

And I don't get what you mean by "weigh them down"? Do you mean because they don't have traditional super powers or because the characters just aren't as good? If its the latter, I thought Renner's Hawkeye was awesome in the brief cameo in Thor and throughout the Avengers.

I would love if they make Hawkeye in the movies a little more like the comic book iteration though the way it comes off in the comics is a lot harder to do on the movie screen in terms of showcasing that full personality.

          I personally loved Hawkeye.

What I really meant is that you'll see the people who BW and Hawkeye fight, and somehow these things suck at fighting them. They have to, otherwise these mortal, unguarded beings would die in a heartbeat. It weighs down the action, I should say. I think they bring awesome things to the table, but like the Batman-Superman thing, I just don't see what good they technically offer in the end.

Don't put much stock into it. I just want to see web-slinging as a part of the Avengers repertoire is all.

They should suck at fighting them, considering BW is pretty much marvel's version of Batman and Hawkeye is one of the best martial artists in the world along with being one of if not the best marksmen in the world.

Me either, BW is her own thing as she was created in the midst of the Cold War as an espionage character in Nick Fury's book in the late '60s. There's nothing in her background that is really that similar to Batman.

I meant in terms of martial arts prowess. Perhaps Batgirl (Not Cassandra Cain, whose the best fighter in the DC Universe aside from her mother Lady Shiva, but more like Barbara Gordon) would have been a more apt comparison.

DareDevil would have been a better comparison now that I think about it. All these characters are their own things, but I was comparing martial arts prowess more than anything else.

Thus the interesting discussion/ranking of Marvel's best fighters will now ensue.

                  Tier A
                  DareDevil
                  Captain America
                  Black Panther
                  Winter Soldier/Bucky Barnes
                  Iron Fist
                  Wolverine

                  Tier B
                  Elektra
                  Spiderman
                  DeadPool
                  Bullseye
                  Black Widow

As far as DC goes, the list of top martial artists gap is smaller aside from the You Have No Hope Tier.

                  Tier You Have No Hope
                  Batgirl/Cassandra Cain
                  Lady Shiva
                  Natas

                  Tier A
                  Batman
                  Deathstroke
                  Green Arrow (Connor Hawke)
                  Tim Drake
                  Nightwing
                  Green Arrow (Oliver Queen)
                  Black Canary
                  Ra's Al Ghoul

I wonder how these would stack up against Marve's heroes strictly in terms of hand to hand fighting...

A well-trained martial artist with a bunch of gadgets and weapons at her disposal, maybe?

If anyone is Marvel's version of Batman, it's Moon Knight.

                        ^ That.

I was under the impression that Taskmaster was one of Marvel's top fighters. Which consequently elevates Deadpool as well.

I think you actually derailed where I brought the thread back: the decision to include the Scarlet Witch character in Avengers 2 (I mean after all, this is a discussion about the movie).

I don't see anything wrong with it at all. Her and Quicksilver are both in the Avengers comics. And they wanted more visually appealing powers since everyone in the first one has "punchy" powers.

Moon Knight in terms of tone and such, but I'd say Black Panther is a more apt counterpart in terms of abilities and tech (Panther is at peak human physical abilities, wears a suit of high tech armor, genius level intellect, an entire nation's riches and military industrial complex which is purported to be one of the strongest in the world).

Well, that's true, especially since they entered in very early (Avengers 16 --- ya, I have that one ), with probably one of their weakest lineups (SW, QS and Hawkeye, with Cap leading) --- strange move by Marvel Comics at the time. Of course, with the X-Men movies established, explaining her as the daughter of Magneto will resonate with the non-collectors.
