I wondered the same thing. I figure it'll be something we'll learn soon unless I also missed the reason why.

He's got to be some sort of clean-freak, or OCD-type personality.
Or maybe it has to do with his backstory and some horrific things he's seen.

I'm really liking this show. Even though I'd prefer more action, all of the characters interest me.

Can't wait for ep.4 with the boxing match. Looks great.

I need to make a call on this one. I watched the premiere, but then scheduling for the last few weeks has been rough, so now I've got a bunch of unwatched episodes and the DVR is almost full. So I need to either hold a mini-marathon and get caught up, or bail on it.

Initial reaction = love Colm Meaney's character. Not sure about the rest of it.

The first episode is the worst of the bunch. Watch the second and then decide.

Definitely. Wait till you meet The Swede. I think he's the best character yet.

                Episode 5 was pretty good.
It's moving along nicely, but we need to see a few more gun battles. This is the old west afterall.
I'm as big a western fan as the next guy, but I'm not going to be satisfied with just giving us drama with a few horses and whiskey drinking as a back drop.
                I need more gunplay.

Taking AMC's history with this sort of thing into consideration, I don't know if we're gonna get much of that.

It was a good episode. I like all of the stories going on, even the Native American's that left his tribe.

While I would like a bit more action, I'm really into a lot of the characters.

On a side note, good news for western fans. Looks like the director of the Harry Potter films is set to reboot "The Rifleman" on CBS:

Anyone been following this? Was enjoying it, but the last 2 episodes (up to this past week's God of Chaos) seemed over the top.

And is it me or does it seem that everyone bumps into everyone else at very convenient moments, even when they've been riding for days across the lands.

I like the show, kind of reminds me of Dead Wood. Too bad we have to wait until the fall for the new season of it.

Great first season, I hope it can stick aroundfor a few seasons.

                          Sent from here to there.
I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I just finished it up (I rarely watch live television unless the Rangers are on). Here are my thoughts.

First of all, the story arc with Bohannan's revenge should have ended at the last episode. It's as if the writers of the show were told around episode six or seven that the series would be picked up for the next year, and there were massive re-writes to satisfy that. They leave a lot of questions unanswered, but the avenging of the family arc should be done with by now; the railroad business is far more interesting.

With everybody knowing of Bohannan's involvement with the murders and subsequent banishment from the community, it's going to be hard for him to appear on screen. I really don't know how the show is going to continue forward, but it has made a mess for itself with Cullen having a bounty on his head.

Then there is the over-the-top stuff that I really believe is filler such as Reverend Cole beheading the soldier and the Irish guy coming back from the dead. I understand there is a good deal to be made from shock value, but that's just way out there. Poor writing in that part of the script.

Overall, I'm excited about this show (I love Westerns anyways), but there is a lot left to be desired in the script. I can't wait for it to come back on though.

Thanks for the heads up, might go back and watch from the beginning since I stopped watching at some point (hell if I know where haha).
