Re: "Papa" Joe Chevalier dies at 62
I remember listening to some of his stuff from Sporting News Radio when we had access to it years ago. He was the common man's sports talk show host.

Re: "Papa" Joe Chevalier dies at 62
He was a joy to listen to when living in Chicago. While I enjoyed the local sports radio personalities, he was a breath of fresh air as he discussed everything else going on in the world of sports. He could talk non-stop about something making news in sports and I'd just listen and smile. Bite Me Wednesdays were always worth tuning in.
I thought at the time in the late 1990s he was in his 60s. I had no idea he was that young then and of course when he passed away. He'll be missed.PSN: sportdan30

I remember listening to this guy for the longest time on Sporting News Radio. I always liked his show it didn't get tiresome like a lot of sports radio shows get with me.
R.I.P.I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

Spanier is on here in Dallas now on 105.3 The Fan. Station flipped formats about 2 years ago, I was told about it, turned to it and the first voice I heard was Arnies. It brought back memories of sneaking my radio in the bed at night and listening to his show on One on One Sports from 9-1. Stinkin' Genius!Comment

Just now noticed this thread. I loved Poppa Joe as a kid. I would sit in my room and play video games and listen to him on my radio. His show was on a local affiliate before ESPN came on the channel.Comment
