Skylar couldn't even give King Heisenberg a ride to his car 2 blocks away?! Can't stand her.

Great episode, great show. I must admit, though, I'm befuddled as to exactly what AMC (and FX, for that matter) can or cannot show, as opposed to network TV and pay-cable like HBO and Showtime. Boobs and F-bombs aren't allowed ("Won't somebody think of the children?!"), but slitting someone's throat and lingering on the victim bleeding out for a minute or so is okay? I don't get it.

That's the ******* society we live in. Violence is not as evil as nudity and bad words... It's stupid as hell.

Nip Tuck(FX) didn't have nudity? It certainly was beyond sexually explicit.

When you have kids, things start to shake out more. If my youngster happens across a violent scene in a Breaking Bad type show like
            Spoiler
I can at least explain it as a Hollywood trick and how this didn't really happen. However, even prior to that I can determine as his/her father how I'm going to keep him from seeing it in the first place.

But with nudity and words exposure, I can't explain this as any type of "trick". Once exposed, they're exposed. I don't want to take this thread down too deep of a debate road, but simply, opening the door to allow more nudity grants ALL nudity in your kids' faces..... so we ain't just talkin' butts and boobs. You open the door for this and in walks those classy NAMBLA gents as well crying foul if you don't give their precious dongs the same air time. And not even gonna get into language and this area, but suffice to say that I don't want my kids thinking it's okay to one day walk into an interview and say, "how the **** are ya?" I'll leave it at that.

And now..... back to Breaking Bad.... predictions for this week?

If you don't want your kids to see a penis, or to see a set of boobs, change the channel. That's why all televisions come with a remote control.

If you don't want your kids to see an individual get their throat slit, or head blown off, again, change the channel.

I don't care if you don't want your kid walking into an interview saying "how the **** are ya?" Not my kid. Not my responsibility nor my concern. Raise your kid the way you want to raise him/her, but don't subjugate the rest of society to your ideals. Change the channel.

I've not only changed the channels, I've blocked the channels, bought a filter for the channels, turned the channels off. Some of you guys are piling these things together. I'm clearly not advocating for violence, what I'm saying is that in the reality of the chances for exposure, I don't want a set of boobs, dongs, vaginas, or the meeting up of boobs, dongs and vaginas where the chance is there and believe me, I understand the opportunities for exposure are easier and greater than others. But there still is a societal decorum. Should there be? Of course. I don't want you as my employee walking into my plant with your junk hanging out just because you think it's your constitutional right.

I'm not trying to sound superior, but again, after you have kids, get back to me.

                  Huh?

How does that correspond to seeing nudity on TV?

We're derailing the thread. PM me if you want to continue this discussion.

Concerning Breaking Bad.... man, I'm still unsure as to what to predict at this point for this coming week (I don't watch the upcoming scenes). I'll still hold for my season prediction that at some point...

I see what you're saying, but I'm commenting more on the grey area that AMC and F/X inhabit rather than what should or shouldn't be shown on TV as a whole. I understand the necessity for network TV to be family friendly. I understand that HBO/Showtime, etc. are adult-based networks, where all nudity, violence, language, etc. (within reason) is a go. What I don't understand is the middle ground that AMC inhabits.

If I'm watching something on NBC or HBO, I know what I'm getting. But with AMC, slitting a guy's throat on Breaking Bad is fine, yet Roger Sterling using an F-bomb on Mad Men is bleeped. If basic cable networks need to be cautious about nudity and swearing to avoid distressing parents or sensitive viewers, then fine. But don't show someone getting their throat slashed, then.

Really? Was thinking of getting Direct TV when I move down to North Carolina... This could change matters.
