From IMDB:
"On the season one DVD audio commentary, Vince Gilligan revealed that Jessie was originally going to die by the end of season one. However, they changed their minds after seeing Aaron Paul's performance."
How different would this show be if Jesse wasnt around the last 3 seasons?
Definitely would not be as awesome without him, thoughComment

Just an amazing season finale.. Could have worked as a series finale. Interviews with Vince are popping up all over the place and they are really good reads. NY Times for one has a great interview up.
SpoilerFarewell Gus but what a way to go out. Hopefully the chicken man will live on in flashbacks during the final season.Comment

Re: Breaking Bad season 4 - premieres 7/17/11
SpoilerWhat an episode. I was really really REALLY expecting Mike to show up at the end and shoot Walt as he was on the phone with Skylar. I am completely shocked that it didn't happen. Will be interesting to see where they go with season 5, the whole Gus storyline was such a major part of the past few seasons. It's going to be tough to start a new one and wrap things up as neatly as they did in this episode.Go Yankees
Go Rangers
Go Giants

I'm one for ending shows on a good note and would have been just fine if this was the last episode.Comment

Yeah, originally they weren't sure if they were gonna get a 5th season so they wanted to wrap this up if it was the series finale, while still leaving enough loose ends that could be tied up if they got a 5thComment

Re: Breaking Bad season 4 - premieres 7/17/11
Byron Cranston on Gus Fring/Giancarlo Esposito
Spoiler"We lose Gus Fring as a character, but I've gained Giancarlo Esposito as a friend," he added, looking on the bright side. "That's more valuable than anything. He's a wonderful man and a terrific actor, a very gracious, very giving, spiritually sound guy who's just embraceable. I have that [friendship] to look forward to."Comment

Re: Breaking Bad season 4 - premieres 7/17/11
This is another show where pretty much every character is unlikeable but it's still a great show. I love how there aren't any real "good guys" and that's what makes it real.
Walt - poisons little kids, puts his family in jeopardy for personal gain, murders total strangers, habitual liar.
Jesse - total junkie, uneducated, acts before he thinks, puts friends in jeopardy for personal gain.
Skylar - hypocrite, bitchy attitude, control freak, cheats on Walt for revenge, also a habitual liar.
Walter Jr. - too much teen angst, whiny, annoying, etc. He was dealt a bad hand in life, but still.
Hank - typical meathead cop, is apathetic to his wife, abuses his power, assaults people with no remorse.
Marie - kleptomaniac, kind of neurotic, sticks her nose where it doesn't belong.
Saul - crooked lawyer who manipulates the system, helps drug dealers and murderers for money.
Gus - total sociopath, kingpin drug dealer, murderer, kills kids.
Mike - murderer who kills for money.
Steve - another meathead cop who abuses his power and plays "gotcha games" but not as bad as Hank.
Ted - thief, liar, extortionist.
Gale - a total nerd and very naive for a man as educated as he was, got in way over his head.
Badger/Skinny Pete/Combo - junkies, drug dealers.
Victor/Tyrus - kills for money.
Elliott/Gretchen - betrayed Walt both professionally and romantically.
All cartel people - drug dealers, murderers, etc.Comment

I totally disagree with the exception of Victor, Tyrus, Ted, and Gus (I was rooting for Gus even when it was impossible to root for him, but was not sad to see hisSpoilergrotesquenessComment
