Ry Cooder's Chavez Ravine.

Chávez Ravine: A Record by Ry Cooder is a concept album and historical album by Ry Cooder which tells the story of Chávez Ravine, a Mexican-American community demolished in the 1950s in order to build public housing. I saw them open up for Iron Maiden back in 1985 at the New Haven Coliseum, great show from what I can remember.

I think ICE Cube's Death Certificate rates up there. Public Enemy's It take a nation of Millions to hold us back as well. The Who's Quadrophenia comes to mind as well.

It's about a guy who murders his wife in his sleep. Pretty intense and sometimes emotional stuff.
