In and of itself, no but the ramifications of it can get you in hot water like if you faked your death to get out of paying taxes/child support/other things like that. You also have the issue of the cops and/or FBI who've been searching for you and find out that you're still alive you can then be prosecuted for wasting their time. I remember a case years ago where that happened.

That is what I thought, that it was illegal.

RIP, but driving under the influence is a big no-no in my book. I was an idiot in my early 20's and drove home a few times when I shouldn't have. The older I get I think its one thing if a drunk driver kills themselves, but when they hurt or take out innocent people in the process it is terrible. If I drink now, I stop an hour or so before leaving. Sorry for my rant, things like this get me irritated.

Tens of thousands of people drive under the influence everyday. While its not right sadly its the truth. Our society encourages such behavior then turn around and say how stupid so and so was when something like this happens.

Drinking , Porsche 911 , and speeding on a dark wooded road at night is a recipe for disaster tho...
