    Microsoft Excel Help

I am working on a spreadsheet draft board for a draft in two weeks and I need some help. Last year I manually input the players name and then shaded the cell depending on the position of the player.

This year I've been trying to figure out if I have a list of players already typed out farther down the sheet, sorted by position and shaded by position if there is a way I can just reference that cell on the draft board section of the sheet and bring the player name and shading with it.

Or is there a way that I can type the players name in and have it automatically color in the cell based of what I have in the players listing table?

    Thanks for any help!

If you are familiar with using Excel formulas, unfortunately, formulas and colors don't mix. Instead, use a conditional format with a formula, like this:

    Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60

If you want to shade the players name in the list, put a conditional format on it using a VLOOKUP. You will probably want to have the list of player in another worksheet(tab) at the bottom.

You can also use some of the list functions to select a player for each pick. Then that value would be used in the VLOOKUP to shade the player as selected on the other sheet.
