The way I saw it was

The neighbor doesn't like them, and is trying to get them killed, the maid, and the kid are afraid or just plain weaker then her, (which is why she told the maid "Don't make me kill you again" and the maid listened) but the secretly want to help the family, which is why the kid lied when the neighbor showed up. If you remember, the kid said something along the lines of "I came upstairs and they were dead" even though he had a hand in it.

Glad this episode was more focused then the first one.

It was much better than the first. More focused as someone said. Still had some laughs too. Still has its share of stuff that didn't make sense or wasn't presented well though. It's different and good enough. Guess it'll be a monster of the week thing. It might be cool if at the end of each season the family (or at least part of) currently inhabiting it dies and a new one takes over and the last ones show up as ghosts or whatever.

Does FX replay the new episodes? I missed the second episode and want to DVR the series after finally watching the pilot. It was pretty good overall, very, very weird and a little creepy.

Edit: Episode two re-airs tonight at 11PM.

Another sweet episode. Still curious as to how they will make this into more than 1 season. It seems to be moving pretty quick. Just going to enjoy the ride. I hope its getting good ratings.

I'm really curious to know what's up with the guy in the latex. Probably the biggest question I want answered.

And the boy... seems to be some sort of apparition. Any chance he is one of the two that were killed early on?

He would appear to be a ghost, although he seems to have a connection to the thing in the basement. The funny thing is, didn't the doctor call his mom regarding one of the sessions?

I think latex guy is one of the 2 guys that owned the house previously that the realtor keeps talking about.

So is the guy with the burned face real or is he some Fight Club like alter ego of the doctor?

Good ? about the burned guy. It was revealed he once owned the house as well until "the house" made him kill his wife (IIRC).

I think they threatened to call his mother but never did. Still, it seems odd he has a patient completely out of nowhere.

I loved what they did with the new woman patient from last night. I KIND OF saw it coming but didn't expect it to be exactly how they explained it.

Yeah, the burned guy was in a trance like state and said he couldn't help himself the house told him to do it and followed directions like a little child or however he phrased it, just like the Doc who appears to like to play with fire when he's "sleep walking".

I can't quite figure out the burned guy, he could be real, but something just screams fight club about him to me. Noone besides the Doc has had any interaction with him.

So the patient from last night....What really happened there? Did the Doc do it and dump her off or did the lady real do it while the doc was in a trance?

I thought it was interesting that the Detective saw the maid the same way the Doc did. It would be funny if they ever hosted a dinner party and the guys were fighting over the old maid.

I'm not quite sure about the patient. I really think she did slice herself then went off and did something worse. She was only claimed to be missing at the end, right? Or was she found dead? I wasn't paying attention completely then.

The detective thing was great. I loved the part "men see what they want to see" and the fact they played upon that later made it even better.

The burned guy - you bring up some great points. I believe he has interacted with the old neighbor and the boy - all of whom seem to have a strange story behind them as to whether or not they are really alive.

She's a ghost and it looks like her age depends on whomever is looking at her. The husband, cop, and probably every other man sees her as the sexy, young version, while the wife, neighbor, daughter, and likely all other women see her as the old version.

As for the burned guy...

I haven't thought of the Fight Club-like split personality theory. It's very interesting and would make for a cool twist.

Is a ghost. He appears and disappears very often and was shown with the neighbor and maid at the end of last week's episode over the bodies of the people that did the home invasion.

they finally explained what the deal was with the babies in a jar they show at the intro to each show. I guess the doctor who did abortions would keep those babies in a jar?
