As much as I disliked the ending of the series it's still a great show. Watching it on DVD/Netflix is definitely the way to go, it doesn't make S2 and the other low points seem as bad or drawn out.

Nothing captured my imagination like this show did for six years. The journey and the way the story is told, while frustrating and seemingly aimless at times, is what makes the show so unique and worth watching. You get sucked into the show in a way no other series ever has for me.

And the Season 3 finale alone is worth watching this series for. The final scene of S3 is IMO - no hyperbole - the best scene in TV history. And maybe I'm a sucker, but Desmond calling Penny, still......

ah, i forgot how polarizing the ending of Lost was. Almost as polarizing as the Battlestar Galactica ending. Well, they're both running neck and neck in that regard.

No sucker to me. I know I couldn't fight back tears during that scene. Then again, I tear for everything. I'm just a punk like that.

I feel like by watching the whole series on Netflix/Blu-Ray sucks some of the fun out of it. I personally enjoyed discussion the theories as the show aired in real time. Now of course the big positive of watching the series now is that you don't have to wait a week or months between new episodes/seasons.

The last episode of Season 3 had the biggest holy **** twist in the history of television (imo of course). The last 2hrs of Season 3 is my favorite episode in the history of TV Shows.

I think it's fair to warn new fans, you're going to have a million questions as the show goes, and not every single one will be answered by the time the series is over.

Despite the flaws, Lost is one of my favorite shows of all-time. It's going to be a long time before we ever see a show like this on TV again.

I watched it over the course of 4 or so months earlier this year on Netflix. Having all the episodes there is amazing. Though like the above poster said, it also kind of took the fun away of really analyzing every show for a week before the next episode aired. But I'm glad I saw it how I did because each episode ends so crazily that you NEED to watch the next one immediately.

I think Season 3 and 4 draw the series out a bit. Honestly, all the seasons are connected in my mind at this point, but I felt like during 3 to 4 I was sort of like, "Okay okay, start making progress towards the whole point of the series."

Even with that, this show was so dope. You'll rack your brain trying to make sense of it all, and it's awesome when an earlier question is answered later or you make a breakthrough in your thought process (only to have it loop back around and start from the beginning shortly thereafter... lol). This will take over your life for the time you're watching it.

If I would've known, I would've done what a previous poster said: take notes on any questions I might have, then cross out when it's answered. Because there's SO many things to follow.

Now playing on Netflix. I'm just on the first episode. Without being specific and being spoiler sensitive is there a point at which the show lost it's steam or did it keep getting better?

It seemed like to me, there were too many flashbacks altogether, and more specifically, at the beginning of seasons 3 and on, it took about 6 shows before the story to pick up and get moving. That is based on my memory.

I corrected the title. You respect this damn show when writing about it.

LOST is the best show I've seen. People will complain about many things but if you just sit back and enjoy the experience it brings and remember that it is a TV show.... I don't see how you can come away without being captivated.

But then again, I am extremely bias.

if you dont think about things pretty much any tv show is captivating. if you have any sort of curiosity or a memory that longer than 5 minutes i think its easy to be less than captivated by "L O S T" I would have been more satisfied with lost if they hadnt kept insisting that all my questions would be answered. If you look at the way the show was developed it was only planned out as 2 seasons in case it didnt make it. each subsequent season they only planned for that season so there are a lot of things that dont fit well together because it seems like the writers forgot what they wrote in previous seasons sometimes.

Not at all. B/w the music, the reveals, the mysteries - it's blasphemous to make such a statement and belittle how LOST would capture the viewer for the 48mins they did each week.

I too watched every episode back last summer on Netflix (had to wait for season 6 on Blu Ray). I burned through the show in possibly record time, and was captivated.

I'd say season 1 is the best television i've ever seen. The whole series is great, but season 1 is just mindblowing IMO. The middle seasons have points where they drag a bit, almost as if the writers didn't really know where to go. Then, they got it all together, and the last couple seasons were fantastic.

In regards to the finale, i'd say I was satisfied. It was something where I kind of knew what was coming, as did a lot of people, but the way it was presented was fantastic. I can remember when the finale aired that a LOT of people I know that were watching it were ticked off, but there was a smaller minority that was more than happy with the way it wrapped up. The show is definitely polarizing in that regard.

I think the ending was going to be split anyway, just because this show was so big. You can't please everyone.

I agree 110% with what you said. And I have a slight bias as well maybe.

No other show had me so glued besides Stargate SG-1. LOST was just a different animal though, and I loved every second of it.
