Was never a huge Linkin Park fan but I do enjoy their music. I think Shadow of the Day is their best song though, even if it sounds like With Or Without You by U2 hahha

Re: Official Rock music thread
You know, it's really odd, I would never go out and get any of Linkin Park's albums or am a big fan of theirs either, but yet I really love a lot of the music they make, and yet when it comes to my favorite bands... they never come to mind.MLB: Minnesota Twins
NFL: Philadelphia Eagles
NBA: Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves
European Football: Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion
NCAA: UNI Panthers, Iowa Hawkeyes

Re: Official Rock music thread
I never really got into Linkin Park. I downloaded their first couple of singles, but them and Hoobastank just combined to really annoy the hell out of me after their first two singles.

Re: Official Rock music thread
I was a fan of Linkin Park around the time of their Hybrid Theory and Meteora albums, but then they went in a different direction with their music that I didn't think they executed as well.

For those interested, the album that's been my avatar for the past little while (Weapons by Lostprophets, their fifth studio album) will be released in the United States on June 19. It's their first stateside release since 2006's Liberation Transmission, from which you all might remember the song "Rooftops".
I already have the deluxe UK release of Weapons, and I think it is excellent. I'm biased though because Lostprophets are my favorite band
though hopefully some on here appreciates the info.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Anybody into Mars Volta? I only have (currently) Frances the Mute and love it, though its not exactly an album I can play anytime as its definitely better as a full listen and kind of moody.
Anyway, listening to the new album on Spotify and I'm digging it so far. Its definitely more "focused" as far as actual songs go compared to FTM.

Re: Official Rock music thread
Yeah, they have definately toned it down a bit from their early work. FTM was a bit extreme for me. Yeah, there are great parts to it, but it's easy to get side tracked when songs are pushing over 20 minutes in length. The Widow baffles me for that reason, being the only song under ten minutes on the disc. It's almost as if they did that song just to have a single for the disc.Anybody into Mars Volta? Not sure if there's any other Against Me! fans out there, but this is happening:
Against Me! front man Tom Gabel rocked the music world by coming out as a transgender with plans to become a woman. The 31-year-old Gabel made the announcement in an interview with Rolling Stone ma…
Couldn't care less what gender the lead singer decides to be, they just need to make up for their most recent album, which wasn't good at all - or very disappointing to me, I should say.Last edited by ImTellinTim; 05-09-2012, 06:49 PM.Comment

I love Against Me! and I love Tom Gabel. And will continue to love them/her. The lyrics to some old songs make so much more sense now.Not sure if there's any other Against Me! fans out there, but this is happening:

And that last album rocked!!

I don't know if you have listened to it, but try out De-Loused in the Comatorium. This was released prior to Frances the Mute and there are some real quality songs on that album. Worth a listen if you like the band. I haven't really dabbled into anything after Frances the Mute, so I don't know how much they have changed.Anybody into Mars Volta? Re: Official Rock music thread
It leaked several weeks ago, so I already have it, albeit illegally hahaha. I've known them since Last Train Home came out. Pretty good band. Not a diehard fan or anything but I do enjoy their music.I was a fan of Linkin Park around the time of their Hybrid Theory and Meteora albums, but then they went in a different direction with their music that I didn't think they executed as well.
