I'll have to check those out then. Ryan reminded me a lot of Kowalski from Vanishing Point.

I also echo Sandman's sentiments regarding the car sound effects. I don't remember the theatrical mix being that prominent during the chase scenes.

Also, Christina Hendricks rocks them damn jeans like her life depends on it. Good, Lord.

I love the soundtrack in this movie for some reason. I don't know why, but it was really good.

Best movie I've seen in a while. Loved everything about it. Gosling's performance right on par with his performance in All Good Things

The book sequel is coming out in April, titled "Driven".

Because it didn't smash at the box office ($35 million domestic), a movie sequel might not happen.

The director said it's a possibility. That could just be to help the DVD sales though.

About that book, it would be interesting how the movie would handle a sequel since the second book is set in Phoenix. I feel like the city of LA was just as big a character in the movie as anyone else.

Its movies and performances like these, that make me hate the world and the "Academy"

If Brad Pitt or George Clooney were the leading man in this movie, at least 10 nominations.

Have not seen this yet. Is the violence as gruesome and overdone as some reviewers claim? Some have made it sound like an R rating is letting this film off easy. Curious...Got to be in a certin mood to watch guys getting domes smashed with hammers or fingers chopped off with cigar cutters, etc.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

I didn't think it was too gruesome - at least not what you see on screen. Honestly, the stuff you don't see affected me more than anything you actually see.

There are moments of gruesome violence (one in particular), but they're brief. After watching I Saw the Devil last week, the violence in Drive seems pretty tame.

Solid movie and whoever said this movie was in line with To Live and Die in L.A. was right on.
                            Very much so IMO.

I loved this movie. The plot, the soundtrack, the silence, LA, the cars, the sound and power behind the cars, just all remarkable. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.

Anything Ryan Gosling has been in lately has been outstanding and this is his best performance.
