I have never and will never use Bing. I don't see myself using any search engine that isn't a specialty engine indefinitely. It's just far too easy to type what I'm looking for in my address bar and google it.

I've earned a little less than that but I'll take the free stuff and the SAME RESULTS you get from Google. I'm sorry it's the same. I know someone is going to say it isn't but they are wrong.Gamertag and PSN Mrclutch1013

Re: Microsoft has lost $5.5 billion on Bing since launch
I've used other search engines by mistake but only vaguely heard of Bing. My g/fs brother had to tell me what it was. If you want to beat Google you have to offer something that they don't and as far as I know they don't offer any reason to switch.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Microsoft has lost $5.5 billion on Bing since launch
the catch is the payouts SUCK now.
the payouts used to be pretty good
- 2 "pts" for up to 15 searches a day (30 pts/day)
- plus 3-4 bonus specific searches for 10-12 pts each/day
and for a little while you could double-dip. there is an IE Bing Toolbar you can use, and then they rolled out a in-browser version for Firefox/Chrome. so you could get all those daily pts twice.
payouts now is like 1pt for up to 8 searches a day, and bonus pts are like 5. and they fixed double-dipping a while ago.
i think you need 500pts for a 400MSP card.
edit: oh and here's a big one...you used to start with 250 pts, now it's 20 apparently.

Re: Microsoft has lost $5.5 billion on Bing since launch
I always cash in 500 points for 400MS points. Between that and the xbox live rewards program, I rarely have to purchase MS points to buy stuff on Xbox Live anymore.Comment

Re: Microsoft has lost $5.5 billion on Bing since launch
5 billion is pocket change to start up a modern competitive search engine against google, and MS has rapidly established Bing as a credible number 2 option. It was always going to be pretty tough for MS to convert people already set in the habit of using Google, but there's always new people coming to computers that can be influenced as long as there's solid alternatives.
MS is actually lucky Yahoo made the worse decision in the history of internet business and turned down their $44 billion dollar buyout offer a few years ago.Comment
