That's exactly how I feel when any celebrity dies. Especially Michael Jackson and Eddie Guerrero. You get a sense that these faces you've known for so long will live forever. With Guerrero it was the weirdest because just a few days earlier, I was watching him on TV working his butt off.

I know what you mean about Guerrero... I actually was sobbing like a baby to the tribute video to 3 Doors Down "here without you", and showing Guerrero with the rain water washing down on him... and I am not a big wrestling fan anymore... a lot of it was because he reminded me of my father (his charisma) and they both actually died of the same thing in their sleep.

Re: According to Apple, Steve Jobs has passed away

One of the things that always stood out to me about Jobs was that he's said in interviews that one of the reasons he was so driven at a young age, and throughout his life, was that he "knew" (aka felt) that he was going to die at a relatively young age. He felt he had limited time to accomplish his goals - and change the world. I always thought that was remarkable, both in a sad way and an amazing way. Unfortunately he was correct.

It's crazy that he was in the industry for decades with ups and downs (and even leaving Apple) but it wasn't until the last decade of his life and career that Apple exploded and with consumer products that weren't a desktop/laptop computer. You never know where life will take you.

The rest of the positives about Jobs have been repeated over and over again already - he's one of the most important people of the last century. He changed the way the world lived. Today's a very sad day.

I have mixed opinions on Jobs, but I will say that he was truly one of the pioneers of our age. The world doesn't move forward without the innovation that people like Jobs made.

One of the greatest quotes of all time...

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”
