Hank Williams Jr. and his comments

Not sure if to put this in the NFL Football forums or in the Entertainment forums. I'm watching Outside Lines on ESPN right now and they are having a heated debate on Hank William's comments on the President. I didn't know Hank was very much into Neo-Confederacy and politics.

But ESPN just dropped him from Sunday night now, it's real interesting. I completely agree with freedom of speech but that's very limited when you have a contract and agreement with people. What are some opinions here......

This will probably get locked, but I think it was a bad analogy. I understand what he was trying to say, but there had to be another direction he could have went with it.

It's unfortunate that ESPN fired him, but that's the nature of the beast these days.

Yeah, this could potentially spark a political debate. These never end good.

This one is going to be locked.

Having said that his comments were stupid, irresponsible, and disrespectful.

People should know by now not to compare someone to Hitler in the media no matter how you feel about the person in question. You're never going to win that argument.

Of course equating the President with Hitler goes beyond political.

And then he calls the President and Joe Biden The Three Stooges.

                I think he was drunk.

Exactly. I saw that Williams was complaining about his freedom of speech being violated. No, it wasn't. Freedom of speech only means that the government can't do anything do him for what he said. He is free to say what he wants, just as ESPN is free to fire him for his comments if they want.

Hank crying about Freedom of Speech reminds me of whenever someone gets banned here and then yells about their Freedom of Speech.

Exactly to your exactly. It reminded me of forum kiddies crying about their "rights" being violated by moderators.

For someone that has visions of running for political office, his grasp of basic civics is apparently pretty poor.

Agreed with everyone though I think he was lumping Boehner in with Obama and Biden hence Three Stooges. I could be wrong though.

Anyways it's real sad to see him making such a foolish mistake like that on live TV. Hell, he wasn't even on there to talk politics really but rather to talk about the box set of his father's music that's coming out. Some blame has to go to Fox News for goading him into going all political right off the bat.

Oh and yes he was definitely drunk.
