Same thing with me, after that punch I said cmon Jack youre not just gonna get punched and do nothing about it.

If anything Kiefer shouldve taken a longer timer off screen. I will always call him Jack and not this Martin name they gave him.

Agreed. Also doesn't help that the 24 movie will be out (hopefully!) within a year. I read they were looking to start shooting after he wraps S1 of Touch in April.

Finally watched it. Very Impressive, count me in!

Like you guys, I just can't see Kiefer as anything other than Jack.

            Re: Touch

Most of the pilot I was thinking to myself, "Come on, that would never happen," mainly at the way several of the globetrotting plot strands connected, but also at the way the social worker went to Jack Bauer's house (sorry, can't call him by any other name) for an "observation," but rather than do any observing had already decided to temporarily remove Jake from the house. And how is it the father's fault that Jake's school keeps losing him? Are they expecting Jack Bauer to accompany his child to school? I also disliked the "Heroes" style heavy-handed, pretentious voice-over, and have no idea how they'll continue this as a series.

Despite all that, once I suspended my disbelief, I found myself enjoying the pilot immensely. As unrealistic as several of the internationally-interconnected strands were, they still had a "wow" and coolness factor, especially the scene where all the cell-phone videos and pictures were played on the jumbo-tron.

So I'm officially, though somewhat warily, on-board. Let's hope Kring can actually sustain a series over the long haul for once.

Agree with all of you. When he was getting hit, I immediately missed Jack and 24.

However, it does seem like a solid show. It will be interesting to see how it develops.

Only thing I don't like is how the next episode is March 19th...two month gap is pretty huge. Would have made sense if it was 3/18 though haha

Yeah. I was confused by that as well does that happen often? That seems like a really long break from the Piliot to the next episode to me.

This was advertised as a "special preview" so I think that's why there's such a big gap.

                    Re: Touch

Thematically, this kind of show is very appealing to me. It will require serious suspension of belief, IMO on the same level as sci-fi shows with aliens, wormholes, and time travel. I'm thinking that a lot of people won't be able to make that leap, but luckily it's really easy for me to do.

I think the scene where the ex-firefighter dude punches Kiefer was a well planned out bucket of cold water thrown over the heads of all of us viewers to attempt to shake us out of the Keifer is Jack mode of thinking. It's probably easier for us old folks who have been watching him act since Stand By Me.

I see this as a two, three year show, max, but that isn't a negative, some concepts just don't lend themselves to longer runs.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I mean, I've been watching him since Stand By Me, Lost Boys too but dammit...he'll never be anything but Jack---ever again!

Agreed that the punching scene might have been an attempt to shake us out of Jack mode early, but then they fought in Grand Central so I don't know.

Watched it from my DVR last night, pretty good pilot. Yet from the preview of the up and coming season, looked sort of predictable

Definitely one of the best for me as well.

Just watched this on Hulu this morning. Very impressed.

As has already been mentioned, going to require some suspension of belief, but considering the kid can somehow connect events with nothing to grasp them by, I already realize this show is going to take that leap so I'm moving along understanding that.

But, if he starts flying, I'm not gonna like it.

The full pilot is on Hulu now? Good to know. My DVR only caught the last 40 minutes of the pilot so I never watched it. Now I finally can.

                              It might only be Hulu+
