Damn, he performed at the BET Hip Hop awards a few weeks ago. At least he closed out the show. RIP Heavy D.

The best to ever blend Hip-Hop music with R&B elements creatively instead of saturating the market with numerous bland cookie-cutter, synthesizer-heavy bubblegum hip-pop tunes.

Also props to the man who hosted two ground-breaking posse cuts... one of which was a largely unheralded one that introduced Biggie Smalls to the world.

Another remnant of a by-gone era of hip-hop, as well as my childhood, gone too soon. Just shocking news.

I was a huge fan of the Heavster. RIP man. I really miss the New Jack Swing era. Such a fun time for Hip Hop. Blending R&B hooks with rap lyrics makes for some great music.

Was this one of the guys from the movie Disorderlies? I remember thinking that movie was so funny when I was a kid.

Disorderlies was a "Fat Boys" movie. The Fat Boys were a rap group in case you were being serious and didn't know. Heavy D was not in the Fat Boys. How many times can I type Fat Boys?
