I've definitely considered doing that. I'll have to see what kind of price they can give me because unless it is a substantial discount (I'd be OK paying $19.99/mo.), then I'll just walk away.

For guys that have gone this route, is there a specific Antenna out there that you would recommend? Do you need anything else besides the Antenna to get the digital signal?

I have a 720p Samsung (not sure if that matters).
      I'm in the same boat.
I'm spending over $70 and the wife and I are constantly saying "There's nothing on TV".
The only shows I like are Walking Dead, Hell on Wheels and Beavis and Butthead.
And I can download all of them.

When our contract is up, I'm getting an HD Antennae. I might splurge and get Apple TV for downloads, but beyond that, I think we'll be fine with just 'regular' TV.
We have hundreds of channels but unless you're interested in reality TV and boring dramas about lawyers and doctors, it's not worth it.

Just call and find out what they'll give you. What do you have to lose since you're prepared to walk away anyways. If I had faster internet, I'd have cancelled myself when I called to get my discounts.

This is the antenna I used for about a year to get all my locals in HD:
          http://www.amazon.com/Antennas-Direc...1307497&sr=8-7

I live in a town where the TV stations have their towers on a mountain that I had direct line of site too (and within 7 miles of, so needlessly to say I had great reception. The antenna worked great and I used it until DirecTV started offering my locals in HD.

I have since given that antenna to my father-in-law who lives in Auburn, AL. Their TV stations are in Montgomery, AL and Columbus, GA and he still has great luck with this antenna even though those towers are at the max of this antenna's range. There is a DB8 that has longer coverage.

            So I tried this one:

Welcome to RadioShack's official website. Search and shop for electronics, gaming devices, powerbanks, audio products and business traveling gear.

But no luck. I think I'm just in a bad area, because I've never had any reception from here OTA unfortunately. I was just hoping that an amplified one would do the trick. Guess not.
