Re: 2012 Golden Globes
I'm beginning to wonder how a show as critically adored (rightfully so, too) as Community gets snubbed from the major awards year after year.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: 2012 Golden Globes
Did Arrested Development have success across the board as far as awards and critics?

I don't know. 30 Rock has won it's share of awards. If those voters picked 30 Rock, why would they be turned off by Community?Comment

The real snub is no Giancarlo Esposito as a supporting actor on Breaking BadComment

Re: 2012 Golden Globes
I know Dayman is eyeing one award category, and one award category only.
I don't know if it's deserving, but I'm glad to see Moneyball get nomination praise in four separate categories. Neither Brad Pitt nor Jonah Hill didn't have to exercise too many muscles in their acting abilities for the film, but the amount of subtlety, camaraderie, and showmanship they displayed looks like it might have been enough for them to get by.
Not that these movies were the best of the year, but I wish that Super 8 and Hanna had gotten some recognition somewhere. Chances are, with the kinds of films that they are, they will not find their way into these award shows.
Person of Interest has been the greatest debut TV series for me IMO, and if there's a chance they can make it to the Emmy's in one category or another, that would be enough for me.
And as for those who never really got a chance to go out and see Cars 2, it may not win the hearts of many, but it sure will still win the likes of many. I was one of the people who were a bit dismissive that they made a sequel, and for the life of me I couldn't really see the ways that it could even dominate the relatively mediocre first film... but in Pixar I trusted, and they delivered just enough glamour for me to, quite frankly, enjoy the film very much. I haven't seen any of the other animated movies on the list, but I can say that if Cars 2 wins, about 70% of that will be because of Pixar's brand name, and the other 30% will still be because it was actually a pretty good animated film. I've now seen it four more times since owning it, if that helps justify my adoration of it.Last edited by Blzer; 12-18-2011, 01:23 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
