So sick of this ****. These higher ups have to think of better ways to generate revenue than ****ing over the customer every chance they get.

EDIT: If there's 97 million subscribers and say 60% pay online, that's a lot of damn money.

Odd. I thought they wanted to do away with paper (most places are giving incentives to pay online). Looks like I'll pay online through my bank now. It's a bit more hassle and $24 per year isn't the end of the World, but I don't want to cave.

Covering their ***. There's a small fee Verizon has to pay the banks for every electronic payment received. That's why most retail places require a minimum purchase to use a debit/credit card.


Say you go into a gas station and simply want a can of Pepsi, the gas station loses money in the scenario if you pay with a card.

I wonder if ATT will start doing this. My old electric company charged $5 to pay online. Ridiculous.

this is only if you do it one month at a time. There's no fee if you set up an "auto-pay" program.

F.C.C. to Look at Verizon’s $2 ‘Convenience Fee’

Verizon’s announcement of a $2 “convenience fee” for paying bills in certain ways has caught the attention of the Federal Communications Commission, which regulates telecommunications in the United States.

The F.C.C. said in a statement on Friday afternoon that it would look into the new fee, which goes into effect on Jan. 15.

“On behalf of American consumers, we’re concerned about Verizon’s actions and are looking into the matter,” the statement said.

Verizon said on Thursday that it would soon impose a $2 charge on customers who make one-time payments using credit or debit cards over the phone or online. The announcement sparked protests from Verizon customers all over the Web.
