Re: The Walking Dead (Season 3)

Too many nonsensical things happened last night.

    - Where did the Governor go? It was night by the time Rick & co. got to Woodlbury, and then the next morning when they returned to the prison. Wouldn't TG have gone to one of those for either supplies (Woodbury) or revenge (Prison)? Didn't make any sense for them to just vanish.

    - Why did TG headshot a few in the grass but not the rest? And this after leaving Merle and Milton to turn? Inconsistent.

    - Why bring all the Woodbury leftovers back to the prison? Why not relocate to Woodbury where you have supplies and real homes to live in? My only thought is because the prison is a better fortress in case TG comes back. Still doesn't make sense, like the ending was rushed. Season 4 will not be very entertaining if it's Rick's group protecting a bunch of seniors and children.

    - A few episodes ago Andrea took on at least 3 walkers while being pinned to a tree. Now she gets bit by 1 walker she sees coming while holding a pliers as a weapon. I'm not totally against her death, but at least make it consistent with the character.

It was nice to have some resolution to the season, but too many things were forced, rushed, or inconsistent. I feel like the writers were messing with us this episode.

yeah, I'm very glad Andrea is dead. That said, I did laugh at the thought of a single walker biting her when she had both hands free, a weapon, and should have been plenty prepard to pretty easily kill him. Kinda lame

That was a pretty terrible episode and the worst season ender by far for the series. The "big" death was lame as well. I wanted Lori to die but at least the way she did was cool earlier this season. Andrea's death made me feel nothing because it was dumb.

Having the rest of Woodbury join the crew is laughable. Now they have lots of dead weight.

This season was good until that last episode. Just a really bad way to end season 3 and I really like this show.

Not sure what they can do with the way the season ended. They really jumped the source material on that. I have no idea where they are going. Maybe they plan on building a community in the prison and somehow they run into a formidable antagonist, since zombies arent it anymore.

It felt so odd the way it ended it was like a perfect rosie Hollywood ending. Where nobody real big died and we saved the town from the bad guy, fade to black, credits. Did they think they killed too many good guys this season or something? The more I think about it the more it rubs me the wrong way. They must have really loved the Governor to keep him alive. I mean they really should have ended him and moved on. And his two buddy goons just hoping in the car was so odd. The Governor would have been shot after that. What do those two guys have zero backbone or moral compass? The people the Govt killed where THEIR PEOPLE. You cant tell me those two didnt feel some way about that. Really bad writing just to reinforce the govt was a badass, something that has been drilled to death at this point.

The only highlight was the growing struggle within Carl between what his father tells him to do in terms of his morality in this world versus the realities that he is living through in that same world. This is the most complex thing going right now. And a few weeks ago I hated Carl. Now hes the only character arch that I want to explore more of.

Season Finale felt like it was suppose to be a 2 hour episode but completely forgot to air the 2nd half of the show.

As others have said, it does leave me disappointed. I am anxious to see what happened to the governor. I think the writers are making it seem like he's finally gone crazy and has taken the Ricktatorship role of "it's my way or the high way" route. His lover betrayed him (Andrea), his best friend betrayed him (Milton), and now the entire town that he's supported throughout the apocalypse has betrayed him. I think it's very fitting for him to get his rage on and do what he did.

Where did the Governor and his cronies go? My guess would be that since his army is now an army of 3, they're on their way to the pits to gather an army of walkers to bring to the prison.

What I don't understand is why Rick and his group didn't take the vehicles that the Governor's dead army were driving.. They had some heavy guns on them and they could of used it.

As things soak in, here's another thing that bothers me. Milton's death meant nothing. They build up his character all season just to have him get killed by the Governor and then end up killing Andrea as a walker. Even leaving the pliers meant noting, as she didn't get away.

The more I replay the episode in my head, the more disappointed I am with what happened.

Could someone explain to my how one gets a pair of Handcuffs off with pliers? I liked this show because it was somewhat grounded by reality but this part episode had about 5 or 6 WTF moments that made little to no sense.

Thank you. Thought I was going crazy here since no one seemed to think that was strange. The whole episode I was waiting to see how she was going to use those pliers to get out of the cuffs and when she did it I still didn't know how it was done.

Was it confirmed she was handcuffed? I remember when the room was getting prepped they showed handcuffs on the chair, but I never actually saw Andrea's hands cuffed.

How great would it have been if when Milton turned, instead of trying to eat Andrea, he actually helped her and proved all the research he was doing on walkers to be true?

The only good thing about the finale is that it was so disappointing, that the wait for October will be much easier.

Yeah I thought this was a great season overall but what a weak finish.

I just kept waiting for something to happen at the end, that just seemed way too cliche and a happy ending doesn't really fit this series. Also as many have mentioned bringing all the old people in adds a lot of dead weight.

Last year the finale at least gave you a sense of direction for the show, this just kind of ended and now we wait.

So let me guess on season 4 plot lines, Carl goes buck on dad and joins the Governor to become Darth Carl. Or they let Carl face off with the Governor and Carl shoots him before he can pull off his fake I'm not gonna shot you move....

I guess I'm in the minority. I liked the genuine shock when the Governor went crazy and killed a bunch of his own people. I never saw that coming. I also like Carl becoming what Shane was when Rick killed him, I thought that storyline really has some legs. I also liked the suspense not knowing if Andrea was dead or not.

As for "why would the Governor do x, y or z, that makes no sense and is inconsistent" WELL OF COURSE, that's kind of the POINT! Crazy people are often wildly inconsistent, lol.

And as for why would Andrea be able to take out 3 biters while tied to a tree and then lose to one biter while mostly untied, I think again, you guys are missing the point that just because you survive once against greater odds doesn't mean squat, you could still die in a more simple fashion the next time..

And lastly, as for why would those two guys get in the car with the Governor and not just kill him, maybe because they didn't really know what to do? Maybe they were afraid if they drew on him they'd lose. They appeared to me to be in shock and that would explain why they just went along with it. There's nothing to say they still won't split later or kill him later while he sleeps...

I also think it's a good setup now that Rick and the gang has the numbers and The Governor is on the loose and a wild card and everything is much different now. And I like the idea that Rick has taken on the responsibility of all of these women and kids and how will he deal with that when before he didn't one to take on one single extra person. And will Carl kill any of them for a simple reason? Lots of storylines there...

Yes the first half was a bit slower than I'd have liked but overall I was pretty happy with the setup for the next season. Not every season finale has to have a huge cliff hanger is how I see it.

And one last thing: someone mentioned "What if Andrea shot Michonne?" and no one replied. I thought it was a genuine question. After all, maybe Andrea thinks the Governor will not ever stop trying to get to her and killing her would end that. I kind of doubt it but that could be a twist..
