    Hdmi switch

Anyone know of a good hdmi switch that doesn't cost too much? Ive looked on amazon amd new egg and I've read too many contradicting reviews to make a decision on one. I dont want to lose picture quality like some of the reviews say will happen.

    Re: Hdmi switch

I'm a little skeptical of guys saying there is loss of quality.
I am under the impression that HDMI is either on or off....no change in quality.(that's why you just find the cheapest cables you can find)

I bought the cheapest HDMI splitter off of Amazon and it works fine for me.

Yeah don't buy that lose quality BS. That is nothing but a myth and misinformation of people thinking the more something cost, the better it is.

        Re: Hdmi switch

I actually bought one a couple weeks ago: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...01_i00_details

I have an HDMI monitor and wanted to watch TV and play XBox on it so I copped one. So far it's been fine. The only time I saw reduction in picture quality was when my XBox was running and I was switching back and forth between cable TV. But that only happened once.

Check monoprice.com. Highly recommended over amazon/newegg/etc for these kinds of products.

I'll look when I get home.

I agree on monoprice or I also use Pacific Cable....
But in my defense.....I was without my wallet at the time(CC) and honestly 1-click on Amazon is awesome(and deadly)

I actually got this switcher(mistaking it for a SPLITTER, which is actually what I wanted) and it worked fine.

                    Actually...I don't think it did.
I remember rooting around for a power cord.
I happened to have had one.

Doesn't come with one and doesn't need one.

                        You are correct.
It's my splitter that uses one...but I don't think it needs it either.
Why do they have the power input on them?

Depending on how long the cables are after the split, you may need to boost the power of the signal. The splitter just splits the signal, so it isn't as powerful and will not travel as far.
