Stars Steve Van Zandt, and is a strange Norwegian-American TV series. Van Zandt plays a mobster that rats out the top dog who attempts to kill him. He gets put in a witness protection program and request to be sent to Lillehammer, (the correct spelling) Norway because he doesn't think it's safe enough in the USA.
A bunch of likeable characters had be seeing the first season of 8 episodes in no time. The "strangeness" of the show deals with the subtitles and dialogue. Van Zandt understands every word the Norwegians speak, and he is completely understood by the Norwegians although he only speaks English. The Norwegians will sometimes converse with Van Zandt in English. Of course much of the show is delivered in subtitles. More strangely it works. By the way, this is comedy. There is some violence, but nothing large scale.
