Re: Game of Thrones Season 2 (aka A Clash of Kings)
Yeah the reviews are pretty terrible, so I'll pass.Has anyone messed around with the GoT RPG game that came out today? I am interested in it, but I would like to hear peoples opinions of it first.
Edit: Just read IGN's review and they gave it a 4 (bad), given the issues they mentioned. I think I will skip this or atleast wait till it is cheaper and go the used game route.
I'm still sitting here wishing that Bethesda had done the Game of Thrones RPG (They were approached about it, but ultimately decided that they wanted creative freedom to be able to do whatever they wanted in their world. The game they ended up developing in its place was Skyrim).Comment

After rereading Book 2 again.
BookSpoilerIt is a shame Reek/Ramsay Bolton isn't in this season. It is such a good twist how he initially survives and then outsmarts Theon.Comment

There is still a small chance he could be there. I must say, that Theon's story has been fantastic this season. I saw the preview for this weeks episode.
SpoilerAsha, (I'm not calling here whatever they changed her name too) comes to Winterfell, so there is still hope for Reek especially with 3 hours of TV time left.Moderator

Re: Game of Thrones Season 2 (aka A Clash of Kings)
I heard the story was good (especially for a video game) and that the combat was inventive (although repetitive since only a few moves are good), but they made so many other rookie mistakes. Glitchy, bad animations, sloppy voice acting and it just looks like a last gen game, from what I've seen. Too bad, if they could have polished it up a bit more and fixed these issues, they could have had something. Better to delay a game and get it right than to release a pile of poo.
I didn't expect it to be good; to expect quality from TV/Movie games is a bad practice.Comment

Neither did I. I just haven't played a game outside of Call of Duty in like 4 years. It would have had to have been a great effort to get me to buy the game.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones Season 2 (aka A Clash of Kings)
I'm glad that Bethesda left GoT alone. I love their games, but the writing and character interaction is by far the weakest part of their creative process. For a GoT game to be great, the writing and character interaction needs to be top shelf.Yeah the reviews are pretty terrible, so I'll pass.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: Game of Thrones Season 2 (aka A Clash of Kings)
To be fair, Robb is almost never portrayed in the book since he does not get his own chapters, and no characters that do are really with him most of the season (Theon for a bit, Catelyn on and off, that's about it).
His victories are only ever mentioned in passing, briefly talking about how he continues to win battles. Besides that though, he simply isn't featured in this book. I'd say he's probably already gotten more screen time this season than the book would warrant.Comment

Better episode than the last two IMO. Glad they got Jon and Halfhand back together. Theon's story is so great this season rivaled only by Tyrion. Oh and finally Samwell gets his dragon glass dagger...
Next week should be fantastic.
Edit: I would love if Joffrey met Stanis in single combat.

Probably not next week, with all attention being placed on Kings Landing. Maybe the season finale.

Re: Game of Thrones Season 2 (aka A Clash of Kings)
GRRM specifically distances the reader from the "Kings" in the book series. In the TV medium obviously, they aren't restricted by that and the POV situation. Based on that and Robb being much better and bigger in season 1 than in the first book, I assumed they would cover more of his war in the second season. He is obviously a major player in the events of the second book, even if you don't directly see him much. My complaints are somewhat nullified by tonight's episode though, they set up the war movements that define the second book and this season well, so I'm happy. (Part of it is just I'm a huge Robb fan, and the more we get to see of him the better haha.)To be fair, Robb is almost never portrayed in the book since he does not get his own chapters, and no characters that do are really with him most of the season (Theon for a bit, Catelyn on and off, that's about it).

I loved tonight's episode. Alan Taylor directing the episode is a stark difference from other directors of this series, he is great.
I think (ACOK and ASOS spoilers)SpoilerThe final scene of this season will be the Walkers attack on the Fist of the First Men.Comment
