Vancouver man sues Avatar director, studio

Has anyone heard about this? Even if true, does this guy have any chance to win?

I know it's old, but I've seen it again on Yahoo recently (can't find the newer story). Any news about this?

What's funny to me is these lawsuits always seem to target movies that kicked *** at the box office. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Where's the lawsuit against, say, "Mars needs Moms?"

Cameron said Avatar finished in 1996? If he can prove that all the elements were there in 1996, then this man doesn't have a case. If he can't exactly prove that, then I'm wondering myself.

"I had some computer experts check it and they said no way it was done in 1996 so we've been here a year-and-a-half dancing with 20th Century Fox asking for the original file and we haven't received it yet," he said.
      This might get really interesting.

If he can prove that his screen play was written when he said it was, then I would believe his case even with any evidence that Cameron can come up with. Cameron says he wrote his on his personal computer, but if the names, ideas, etc are straight from the screen play, the likely hood that 2 separate people could write it would very low. They will probably delay it as long as possible and hope he runs out of money. If he doesn't go away, then they will try to settle it as quite as possible.

If I was him, I would want the money, but also require Cameron to make a video and play it before any Cameron film saying how he stole the screen play. That would be hilarious.
