My CPU is a good i7 one. Best thing in my PC.

Motherboard I went cheap on and been having problems woth my PC for a while. Im figuring getting a bigger case with more cooling, new MB and bigger harddrive would help it out.

Ah ok! What case do you have now? I remember seeing you've been adding and tinkering trying to get it to perform better. Just make sure you get a MB that matches up pin wise with the CPU (sorry for stating the obvious!)

Doubling my RAM from 8 (2x4) GB to 16 GB. First major upgrade I've done on it since I built it 4 years ago. Other than adding a couple of fans. Been playing Cities: Skylines lately. Tinkered with overclocking my 7870, but even minor boosts never seemed stable. It's an OC version already though.

I think I might look into an RX 480 for an upgrade over my 7870 2GB this year, and maybe next year do a bigger upgrade as it'll be a four year old build at that point.

Anybody went with the Nvidia GTX 1080 gpu yet? I am extremely tempted by this bad boy. I have my PC connected to my 65in 4k TV and really want to run games in 4k 60fps max settings.

Right now I have the GTX 760 which is a pretty solid gpu. Kills pretty much anything in 1080p max settings. It can do 4k but I have to tone down the settings and still can only get about 35-50fps. It still looks amazing.

you won't get max settings at 4k60fps.

You can probably pull off a locked 30fps at max settings, otherwise you're looking at 40-50 fps for new games.

Ya I was reading up on it but I don't play the first person shooters (makes me sick) and super intense graphical games. Usually the Lego games for the kids, some sports titles, the chapter time games, and strategy games. So I think I'd be pretty safe. Am I wrong? Do you have one?

Im stashing some money away to upgrade my PC. I need a new motherboard, bigger case and better cooling. Im also guessing ill need a bigger harddrive and maybe a upgrade in the graphics department as well.

Oh, it's great. No complaints about it. The only think that makes it work is Tomb Raider with everything on. I'm normally between 55-60ish fps in that.

My Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070 finally arrived in the mail today. My other parts should be here tomorrow. I cannot wait to use this GPU!

Not building, and probably a stupid question....my PC internal drive is 1TB ...just got external of same size. Want to back up important stuff and put in fire box. Should I copy/ paste or is it better to use Windows backup? Thoughts or insight?

Trying to help my girl pick a printer, haven't looked at one in a very long time. She will be printing mainly black and white but will do color, she also wants it to be a copier and she doesn't want the printer to require that all cartridges regardless of color be required to be full of ink to be able to function. She was looking at the Epson 430 XL...any suggestions?
