Thanks man, I was about to ask where you got your cords.
Gigabyte software is ****. I install it (Gigabyte Graphics Engine) and it never opens back up again and I have uninstall and install it for it to open. The only reason I use it is to control the RGB lighting for the board and gpu. Also its easily unlocks voltage.
I rather use Afterburner but for some reason I'm unable to unlock the voltage. I copied the OC settings in the other program and go with that but would like to freedom to test my card.Comment

LOL! I just said the same thing. I just upgraded the Bios a couple weeks ago but hadn't been in there until I installed an M.2 drive the other day. It's terrible. I only use it for my fan curves I set up.Thanks man, I was about to ask where you got your cords.

You can add any game to steam regardless of the launcher. I have diablo 3, battlefield 1, etc shortcuts in my steam so I can run them on my steam link.
Bottom left of the screen in steam where you enter in codes under your title list. The plus sign "add game". There's an option for a non-steam game shortcut. Just browse to the shortcut and you're good to go. I even have NES emulator games running through my steam link this way. Works great.

What about GOG/Origin games? If I add them to Steam, will I still earn GOG/Origin achievements? Will it launch their respective launchers before the game? You can add any game to steam regardless of the launcher. Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
Tonight I connected my PC'S GeForce 1080 HDMI to my Samsung 4K HDTV via HDMI. Picture looked awesome but I only got stereo and not 5.1 for audio.
The way my system is setup is my TV is running CEC to my audio receiver which is not 4K for audio.
My Xbox and PS4 both run fine in 5.1 so I know my setup works for it.
I went to the Geforce Control Panel and configured digital sound, which took me to windows and the only option there is stereo sound.
So what do I do to get 5.1 from my Nvidia via HDMI? Is there something I should have connected from my motherboard audio my Geforce card?

Most HDMI connections from a video card only allow stereo for whatever reason. To get 5.1 you'd need to connect an optical out if your PC has it.Tonight I connected my PC'S GeForce 1080 HDMI to my Samsung 4K HDTV via HDMI. Picture looked awesome but I only got stereo and not 5.1 for audio.

I have read some older cards even support 5.1...find it hard to believe a $599 card doesn't...

Sent from my SM-G930V using Operation Sports mobile appI'm not a pro on this but faced an issue similar to this a while back. I went with a Sound Blaster Z sound card, Optical in & out on this card allows me to send & receive a 5:1 signal to my surround sound receiver.
Video cards are built for PC monitors, sound is very secondary. Encoders and other issues are at play which is why, go check out any sound card out there and read the reviews. They will be all over the map, because sound encoders combined with thousands of hardware configurations equals to lots & lots of problems. Sound in general can be a bitch.
I've spoke about it here on OS in various other threads but dedicated sound hardware is the way to go. Get a decent sound card, AMP, DAC, & good pair of cans. Lastly, use this setup in 2CH STEREO and you will never go back to digitally simulated surround sound.
Now with all that said, your issue comes down to this, you are connecting a HDMI from your PC to your TV. The PC motherboard audio card then sees 2 speakers on the TV, thus windows is defaulting to 2CH stereo.Comment

Yeah not all motherboards are the same. My motherboard has 8 channel DTS audio jack. If your motherboard don't have it, then yeah you going to need to buy a dedicated sound card.Comment

Re: Official "I want to build a New PC!" Thread
And the part about The motherboard seeing two speakers on my tv and defaulting to 2.0 stereo makes sense but why would my Xbox one, PS4 pro and other devices not have the same problem?
They all go out via hdmi to my Tv and then the tv sends the 5.1 over to my receiver ok..
