made a few upgrades to my PC. picked up an ASUS DirectCU II R9 290 for $450(snagged it before it went back up into the $530 range). It's replacing an ASUS DirectCU II 7770 2GB. so far loving it. Tomb Raider benchmark was hitting the 60FPS lock I guess it is on by default. it ran min/max/average of 60.0 when I ran the benchmark. that was everything maxed out running 1080p(AA might not have been maxed, don't remember). Sleeping dogs was more around 52 fps average I believe. haven't benchmark in other games or applications yet.
now to help my CPU keep up, picked up Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO and plan to overclock my AMD FX-6300. I've seen others overclock this same processor to 4.5Ghz with this cooler without any issues, I'll probably aim around 4.2-4.3Ghz first though, I don't typically tend to stress out my computer parts. It'l depend on how well the cooling is.
picked up a 2TB HDD to replace a 1TB HDD I had for installed games. It was starting to get full, had less than 100 GB remaining. I'll swap out that 1TB drive for an older 500GB Sata II drive I still have that just has ISO files on it from software/games I created an image for(so I never have to use the disks again). it wasn't really getting full or anything, but i might as well get rid of it as it's a slower drive.
a few weeks ago picked up a 4TB seagate external drive that I now use to make backups of all my computer drives.
