I heard they had to redo some parts of the cards chip, so it'll be later in the year. You can chill for now

Im 100% aiming for a new PC in the new couple months and I think I've ultimately settled on this. Only thing I'm still debating is the video card (whether to stick to the 5700 XT or go with an RTX alternative) and which 21:9 2K monitor to pair with it.

Not really worried about the new 3000 series cards as I'll wait on reviews and then decide if there's one worth buying that supports ray tracing well.

Thinking about it again, I might upgrade that CPU to a 3900x or a 9900k as budget was/is around $1500, around $2,000 max.

So I have an RTX 2080 Ti right now, and let's say that down the line there is some equivalent in a 3080 Ti format. What benefit will there be having both GPU's in my computer at the same time when it comes to gaming? Do games see both of them, or just the primary one?

I don't see any benefit other than maybe having a bunch of monitors connected at the same time i guess. To SLI which honestly you don't need they need to be the same card.

Just sell the 2080ti when you're ready to get the next card

            Alright, guys.

I've decided to go with this build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/8Y2Qsk

And will be ordering parts this evening. My only issues so far seem to be locating the Mobo and finding a similar case in stock.

IDK when I'll actually get around to buying all the parts and building it (probably when I pull the trigger on everything else for my setup like monitor, desk, keyboard, etc.) but this is the build ill be going with. Powerful enough to utilize all of the power of my eventual monitor as well as be a decent enough rig to put on my CX if i choose to, and still fall within my max budget.

Guys make sure you know who you are buying parts from. Everything on Amazon isn't sold by Amazon, it is sold by 3rd party. For example, no RTX 2080 Super should be over $760 unless it is water cooled. So make sure when you shopping for parts on Amazon it is sold by Amazon. These vendors on Amazon are over charging big time, don't fall for that trap.

Got this from Microcenter as an upgrade from my i5 8600k. I’m doing too much app development and rendering to not have at least an i7. Also will run RPCS3 much better.

Hated to upgrade as my i5 games so well, but after selling my i5 on eBay and wife paying $100 toward it, I am out $90ish for it.

Yep as I was saying earlier in this thread

Newegg, Amazon and even eBay are the main culprits of gouging

I was lucky to get an Asus Tuf x570 but I was searching day and night until one popped up

Best but will randomly out something up late at night and it'll sell out quickly if you're too slow.

I checked a few places for stuff

                          Amazon
                          Micro center
                          B&h photo
                          Cdw
                          Newegg
                          Circuit city
                          Connection IT
                          Among other places

Ended up getting my motherboard and power supply from best buy but were also the last 2 pieces I could find

If you see guys charging 4 and 500 for parts you know don't cost that much, let them keep it

As soon as these b550 boards drop this month they're going to be stuck with that stuff for being greedy

Yeah, the prices have been all over the place this week. One or two Mobos will come into stock and last seconds.

I went ahead and ordered the CPU, GPU, monitor, and system memory and storage. So the bulk is on the way.

Do you guys know of any cases similar to this Corsair RGB? Trying to stay around or under $100 with the RGB. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/corsair...&skuId=6323389

If you have not bought already...

Do yourself a favor and get a bigger SSD. SSD's are meant to be pretty open in space to maximize their speeds. At 250GB, you are going to be wishing you went bigger.. I would get a 1TB minimum, but if price is a problem, get a 500GB. At $1200 though, what is another $50?

You will be missing out by not being able to install games onto your SSD. In this day and age, most games really need to be on an SSD, I truly believe anyone that says otherwise is kidding themselves.

Hope this helps man, I have been down the "buy now, regret later" road.

                                On sale...
