I can see why Steven isn't feeling this. It's being jammed down our throats. It's still funny but I can see them trying too hard at some points to live up to the first one.

With the original cast though, it's practically fail proof.

Well as I said earlier in this thread, I don't have the original as high up as others here do, but I also saw it at a somewhat younger age. Still need to re-watch it for my final verdict, I guess.

However, I just watched the trailer for the sequel, and I only slightly cracked a smile during the slow-motion tumbling action. It just must not be my kind of humor or comedy, because I didn't find anything funny about that at all. An uncommon opinion, yes indeed... but still a valid one nonetheless.

I shall reserve judgment until the film comes out though, of course. All that I have seen are merely "PG-13 moments," so there's still more to come. Must watch the first one again, though.

Surprisingly its at 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. I had a little bit of a worry that it wouldn't be good, but this has eased my concerns.

So does that mean that after its' release, if you find you don't like it you can't come in here and say so?

Personally, I find Farrell's movies generally inane (his role in Elf is the large exception in my mind). I like him in small doses generally, which is why he worked so well on SNL.
