Considering they reboot the super hero movies every couple years this isn't bad at all.
Given how one producer, director, writer or any combination there of, can really wreck a super hero movie with really a bad interpretation of the characters, I get why those films might be rebooted rather quickly.

22 years seems too soon, IMO, for an movie that did really well at the box office and won a few awards.

With all that being said, this looks great, and definitely has a chance to be better than the original.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

that's what I said, on that note, I would have left this one alone, as I have been saying HOLLYWOOD is bored, a sequel to twins, 3 stooges and now this this, HW get a life.

Yeah they seem to lack any creative thinking anymore.

Well the reasoning doesn't mater to me. Its still a remake regardless. Lack of creativity and looking for quick $ is the main thing.
They aren't making the new super here movies IMO because of a heartfelt desire to make a better one because they felt the previous ones were bad.... it's all about $, which is ok as that's what everyone wants.
I just don't remotely think they are doing it to make up for previous quality which in turns is the reasoning for a reboot so soon.
            22 years or 5 years... it's still a remake/reboot.

I like what I seen in trailor so I'll end up seeing it but like most movies, it will be on bluray. just don't get intot he theatres anymore.

if there's no Biel vs Beckinsale fight this movie is a total failure. Well maybe not a total failure. Kate Beckinsale makes my mind all screwy.

No interest in the movie, but really enjoying the many appearances Beckinsdale / Biel are making on the talk show circuit to promote it!

                      Re: Total Recall

I'm attaching my review and comments with the actual ticket stub...

Just got back from seeing the movie and it was a fun ride, was the movie just over blazing and the best ever? Absolutely not!

Was it a great flick for the summer? Absolutely yes!!!

Without spoiling the film, I will say they had some references to the previous film that would have almost thought they were copying it exact, and then takes a twist! Problem is the scenes were clipped in the previews and gives away the humor or surprise of a scene.

I will say the trailers and previews show too much and give too much away and it sucks. Because a lot of things would have taken you by surprise and led to more suspense in the film.

Acting was fantastic all around, even the Villains in the movie were great. I will say the action was none stop and they were scene for scene. There were about two or 3 calm down moments and everything else was boom, bang, pow!!! None stop down to the end credits.

Movie wasn't bad in any sense of the word. I recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the original, to anyone that is a die hard sci-fi person, and to anyone who loves the art of technology and special effects, because they made everything look fantastic down to little details.

It's easily a 4/5 Film (Trailers ruined a lot that could have made the experience better)

Also let me add this: The movie wasn't bad in no shape or form, and it also wasn't better than the original.

I think it holds it's ground in it's own respects. Again superb acting and the stories are different, so it still feels somewhat like a new film. Good action film from beginning to end, and again too much shown in trailers.

Well worth seeing in theaters on big screen with nice sound. Our local theater is insane and ultra loud, even during explosions the floors were vibrating.

                        Re: Total Recall

I saw a prescreen of it on Thursday and thought it was pretty terrible. The only thing it has going for it is aesthetics. The visuals were pretty sweet, and Kate Beckinsale is hot as always, but other than that I was bored for the whole thing. As said, there are a couple nods to the original, and the remake has some major plot differences. All and all, it was an average action film at best and I would suggest waiting for it to hit the cheap seats if you MUST see it in theaters.
