 Re: DirectTV "new customer"

I was able to get Sunday Ticket free last year so I know they're willing to work with people. I also agree that (like most things in life) it's easier to talk people into things when you're nice about it. Last year, Comcast came to my door saying they were more focused on customer service and wanted a chance to win back my business. They offered me a deal on their Triple Play package, with the sports package and some movie channels, that was a good $30-40/month less than what I was paying with DTV and AT&T (for internet...no Uverse at my house even though both neighbors have it!). When I called DTV, I just said that I was out of contract and really enjoyed their service but that Comcast's offer was significantly less and hard to pass up. I eventually got him to throw in the Sunday Ticket for free. I told him I'd have to talk it over with my wife but he specifically told me that he would make the changes and that I had no commitment to worry about if I decided to cancel.

As for the "new customer" deal, it's a great one. I don't expect that I'll get it without having my wife sign us up at the new address. That's a little shady for me so I may just call and ask what they can do. In the end, I'll probably switch to someone else if they won't throw in Sunday Ticket and upgrade me to a whole-home DVR. I'm just not big on having a dish on my roof, I guess. My love of NFL/Fantasy Football far outweighs that concern though!PSN: JWGoNDComment
