Great doc. I still hate those guys, though.

Just watched Hillsborough. It was pretty much divided into two separate documentaries.

The first, the recounting of events and first hand stories were absolutely jarring. That was a lot to handle. Absolutely incredible and devastating.

And then the second part, the search for justice. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to discredit it at all, but God that got absolutely dull after a while. I still felt bad for the families of the victims, but it was a complete 180 from the feel of the first half of the film. Up until this point, it was a contender for the best 30 for 30.

The best five, pre-Bad Boys viewing:

          5-Winning Time
          4-June 17th, 1994
          3-Pony Excess
          2-The U
          1-The Two Escobars

Watson nailed my top 3, in order.

4 and 5, I'd have to think about a little bit.

I don't think the one on the Fab Five is technically a 30 for 30. If it is, that one would probably crack my top 5. The Graham Spano one was also very interesting.

Have Hillsborough just sitting in my DVR, haven't gotten around to watching it. After reading some of this thread, I think I'll be able to find time...

I've never watched any of the 30 for 30 docs, but seeing all these post is making me want to and wish I was up on it...any way to check out past episodes or are they just gone?

At the risk of sounding salty I'm just going to go ahead and say that Four Days in October is one of the worst ones they did. I actually feel the same way about the one they did on George Steinbrenner. I don't think either one told anything that we didn't know, didn't seem like stories that needed to be told.

If you happen to have Netflix, many past 30 for 30's are featured there. Also, YouTube has quite a few 30 for 30's as well.

Didn't see the Four Days in October, but was extremely disappointed in the Steinbrenner one. My dad was in town visiting and I had told him how good the 30 for 30's were…we sat down one evening to watch that one and neither of us could stay awake through it. It was absolutely awful…like an infomercial for the new Yankee Stadium. They could have done SO much more, but they whiffed completely.

Watched Bad Boys the other day. Solid flick. I liked some of the minor details like filming whenever they were setting up the interview and catching some of the more candid talk and expressions. But Kid Rock wasn't very soothing on the ears.

The best part were the montages set to Public Enemy's Fight The Power

I really like Four Days in October in a behind the scenes type of way, it did an excellent job of telling the story and was put together really well.

The thing is, like you said, we knew the story. It didn't reveal any information, it just recounted the events. Granted, it did it well, but the best 30 for 30s were equal parts entertaining and informative

So far my day has been:

                                June 17, 1994
                                Four Days in October

                                The Two Escobars

Holy ****ing hell were the last two great. Especially The Two Escobars, which was absolutely heartbreaking.
