Re: Top Radio Host?
Just a note - no one does interviews better than Howard Stern IMO...he asks the questions everyone wants to know but regular interviewers are always afraid to ask..Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

Re: Top Radio Host?
If you have a smartphone, you can get his app and listen live. Or, what I do is download his show from his website for free, and listen while at work, if you can..Last edited by Segagendude; 06-05-2012, 02:44 PM.Comment

Re: Top Radio Host?
I enjoy Jim Rome most of the time and Ben Mallard. Mallard was better I think his first go around on Fox Sports Radio.
Art Bell was awesome on Coast To Coast AM but he retired. Not a big George Noory fan but George Knapp and John B. Wells are very good.GT: Herkyalert

Re: Top Radio Host?
Mathews and Maddow have radio shows? I'll have to find a way to listen to their stuff. I used to have MSNBC but it was taken off my cable tier a couple years ago. I really like those two. Lawrence O'Donnell seems a bit bland but maybe he's better on radio "shrug"
This is spot on, If Howard didn't have the reputation for being a shock jock and always into sexual stuff he'd get a lot more respect for his interview style. I find a lot of classic Larry King (back in his radio days) mixed in with Art Bell in his interview style though Howard definitely pushes the envelope a bit more to get even more candid answers.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Re: Top Radio Host?
I only listen to a few shows.
I listen to the WJOX Round Table, here in Birmingham. They're easily the best talk show out of Birmingham.. hosted by Ryan Brown, Lance Taylor, and Jim Dunaway...
Of course we're in SEC football country, but these guys also know about each sport out there. They have a good mix of humorous segments (First World Problems, Trash on The Table etc) and they also interview some pretty solid guests, including some of the big names from ESPN and all aspects of the sports world.
I catch the occasional Finebaum segment, if I know he's about to have a decent interview or I'm just bored, but the fact that people consider his show to be the best in the state, blows my mind..Comment

Re: Top Radio Host?
I wish I could find a way (other than paying) to listen to Coast to Coast (past shows) during the day at work. I used to love to listen to it at night, but I'm just never up that late anymore. Very entertaining show, even though I think most of it is BS.Comment

Yeah, I used to be a listener, but too much Alex "everything's a conspiracy" Jones turned me off...Comment

Re: Top Radio Host?
Anyone taking over for Keith Olberman might be considered bland by comparison, but he's not to bland-his girlfriend is fellow MSNBCer Tamron Hall.

Re: Top Radio Host?
People still listen to radio? Podcasting is where it is at. Previously my two faves on radio were Adam Carolla and (locally in Austin, TX) The Charlie Hodge Show. Now I get both only through podcasting. Can't stand Dan Patrick, that dude is so overrated. He isn't near as cool as he thinks he is.Comment

Re: Top Radio Host?
I really stretched "radio host", because we're talking about the Sirius Radio broadcast of the MSNBC network. Of the big guns at MSNBC I think only Ed Schultz has an actual radio talk show. There is not one progressive radio station that I know of in this area.

Re: Top Radio Host?
Alex Jones was used quite a lot in the last little while but they've swapped out a lot of the more kooky guests with people and topics that, (not to my liking) are at least different. I always enjoy it every month when George has Linda Moulton Howe on with her Earth Files stuff.
