    HTC Amaze- Technical problem

I just got off the phone with T-Mobile a couple hours ago regarding this phone. I brought this sucker the day it lunched in October and ever since that day it's had this issue were for some strange reason it'll turn itself off; it'll be very random. The battery life would look fine and just like that bam, it shuts off and when i turn it back on it's fine. However it does it every so often.

After the first 2 months, I called T-Mobile and the sent me a new battery. The problem consisted and then they sent be a BRAND new phone. I originally brought the white Amaze and because that has been discontinued they sent me a brand new sealed black one with a new battery and everything.

The problem still continued, now keep in mind everytime i've called they've said that this isn't a know issue and could be isolated to just my phone (yet on the t-mobile forums at the time other people had mentioned it and it became know that it was a problem HTC knew about and sent out a statement). Sadly again, the problem consisted and i called again, this time the rep told me, I'll send you another phone and if it continues we'll give you another phone comparable to the Amaze.

Guess what, it happened again. I called and the lady gave me an attitude when i asked for another phone that wasn't the Amaze. I fought her on the situation and demanded another phone. She even asked me to use my upgrade to get myself another one and i refused to do that because this is their issue to resolve not mine to use my upgrade on.

She finally looked at her notes and said it was fine for me to get another phone but i would have to talk to technical support. The technical support dude comes out and finally tells me that this is a known issue and HTC has stated a way to fix it. At this current moment, I could careless and want a different phone but i'm willing to listen. He then tells me to fix this, I have to remove my memory card that's in the phone because that may be the issue and master reset my phone and not download any apps or listen to music for three days.

I'm sorry but that is incredibly stupid, that's too much of an inconvience for me. I didn't buy a $300 phone so i could just make phone calls with. He continues to tell me that without doing this step I can not get a different phone. I refuse to do this and ask for a supervisor or manager and she happens to be on another call herself. I say thank you but no, i'm not inconviencing myself for three days when I've called about 6xs and got the run around.

I'm going to call back again and demand a manager. I think at this time it's the principle of the matter. The guy i talked to 2 weeks ago said i could get another phone without a hassle, and now i have to go without a true phone for 3 days......And the kicker is i actually reformatted my memory card right before they sent me the 3rd phone. I'm actually planning on getting the Galaxy 3 June 21st, but i was going to give my current phone to my brother.

I'm just blown away at the fact that they refused to send me another phone after going through so many issues and being a loyal customer....WTF

as an aside, you might want to check out the forums at XDA. I'm sure they have dealt with this same issue and probably already have an easier fix in place. I have always been happy with my HTC phones, but understand the frustration you are dealing with. Give them a try and see if something doesn't come from it. Good luck.
