    Tablet

So I just recently went thru a divorce and just moved into my new condo.
I left my old laptop with the ex,it was old and I want a Taplet.
I have been checking about everything to do with taplets for about a month now and quite frankly my head is about to explode. My question to you "experts" out there is what tablet would you suggest. I really only am going to be using it to surf the web, watch videos, and listen to music. I was really close to getting an IPAD 2 last night but decided to see what you guys think. I am not crazy about spending $400 on the ipad.
Again just looking for suggestions on what you guys think.

    Here is the skinny...

For what you just said, an android or Ipad would be great.

As for differences, the Ipad has much more in the form of apps that are built for the bigger screen.

Googly has gotten better of late though.

My advice would be to go with the Ipad if you already have an Itouch or Ipod, because moving your music over is cake.

If you have your music saved on your hard drive in folders, get a Android Tab.

Sony Tablet S is solid and has just been reduced to $350.

I am interested in the S, and Toys R Us has it for $300 but good luck finding it in store, not many carried it to begin with.

Go iPad. I have a Lenovo and a Kindle Fire, but just got the new iPad and it is a huge upgrade in my opinion. I love Android, but I was stunned how well the iPad works that I am now looking into going the iPhone route as well to replace my Droid. It is a premium, but well worth it for something that just works. Good luck.

You know that is pretty much what everyone says.
The first thing you usually hear in a review for anything other than an IPAD is, this item is really cool but its not an ipad.
If i get an IPAD i think i will get the IPAD 2 not the 3.
Is the 3 really that much better for the price?

The reason being, Ipad has many more Apps.

One real negative for Android software in general is that it has many different hardware from many different companies.

It is easier for developer to focus on one software and one hardware component...also doesn't hurt when their installed user base is much higher.

However, you can not compare the Kindle Fire or the Lenovo pad(depending which model, actually). They are both lower end Tabs.

If you want to compare the Ipad 2-3 to a tablet, compare to the Excite, Transformer Prime, Sony Tab, and Galaxy Tab.

I think it is more how you use it as to which is better. If you plan to watch a lot of video or for photos, then the retina display is amazing on the 3. The 2 looks fine as well as I compared them both and just went with the new one since it was only a bit more.

Since I am coming from Android, battery life was a focus for me, so I turn the contrast down on mine anyway to save battery, but it still looks great. The difference from my others tablets to it is huge, so that alone is worth the price to me.

In my house we have a Galaxy Tab 10.1, Asus Transformer Prime and IPAD 3. I'm an android guy but being honest here, the IPAD 3 is the best one for sure. Faster, smoother and it just a gorgeous screen. This is after me and roommate rooted our tabs.

Is this the first time with a smartphone/tablet?

If you are looking for games, go with Temple Run, Angry Birds, Bejeweled 2....etc those are great time wasters.

As for others, if you have subscriptions, Hulu +, Netflix, NPR, Mint, Spotify, StumbleUpon...
