Any wireless router advice?

My office/gaming hideout has finally been completed but it's in the basement. My wireless router is on the first floor and it's one of the old Linksys blue and green routers from about 2007.

My question is should I switch to a N router and if so should I purchase one that is top of the line?

Situation:
-Basement gaming office
-Streaming video and online gaming for PS3, Xbox, PC
-10 mg download 2 mg upload speed wired
-Office is about 50 feet diagonally from my router

I was looking at this router but maybe it's overkill:

N is the way to go. You can get a dual band way cheaper then $200 in an actual store nowadays. Especially this time of the year when most stores have it on sale. Also keep in mind how effective your router is also depends on the thickness and the material of the walls and floor it has to pass through.

If you don't mind doing it, just run a line directly into the basement if your floor is too thick.

I used to use an adapter that you plug in the wall and it ran the connection through the electrical lines in the house and to my console. it was just like being wired into the router.

That's a good idea. If I run a wireless router to the basement and keep the my other router upstairs will that effect my signal strength (using two routers at once)

You can use wireless router but keep your signal strength strong don't keep big barriers like big walls because it may not support.

I was just wondering if switching from a G to a N router makes a huge difference. If it does then does buying a high end router make an even bigger difference.

I only get 10 mg though my internet company so does that make a difference on which router I should buy?

N is stronger then G, not even close. Hell it don't even have to be the newest model N router, as long as it is N, that is all that matters and you can find basic N routers for like $60 now.
