I used to watch The Sports Reporters regularly in the 90's and beyond, and I remember Mike Lupica and Bill Conlin (and Dick Schapp of course) were staples on that show. I just happened to google Conlin's name because of a YouTube video that featured howard Cosell, Schapp, and Conlin all together for a 1990 airing of The Sports Reporters.
The "googling" produced a December 2011 news story about Conlin being accused of child molestation. The most damning accusation came from his niece, who is now a prosecutor in Atlantic City, N.J. A few days after the story broke other woman came forward. The statute of limitations will protect Conlin from criminal charges since the incidents allegedly happened over 40 years ago.
There are apparently seven woman who came out, mostly due to Sandusky being in the news. The lawyer for three of the accusers said there will be no lawsuit, "They are not interested in money".
I don't know how I missed this or why there is nothing on OS about it. Any local Philly or Pennsylvania guys have a reaction?
