The girl (Blake Lively) narrates the story (ala Kevin Spacey, American Beauty or Morgan Freeman, Shawshank Redemption) and makes a point to say that just because she's narrating it that doesn't necessarily mean she's alive.

So now the ending....the one "weed grower" is dying of a fatal wound, so Ophelia (Blake Lively) decides they must die together, so all three are injected with what I assume is a fatal dose of morphine (not sure). Hayek is also killed in this version and I think is this the one where Del Toro is finished off by Ophelia, who he raped.

Then cut to an "Ophelia Narration" and she explains that is what should have happened but instead Travolta's crooked DEA guy and team swoops in, arrests Hayek, and sweeps up more mess by categorizing the trio as informants. I think they're living on an island now.

How contrived was the ending? To set it up to look like they died, then hit the rewind button to ACTUALLY show what happen, all for the purpose of exploiting the "doesn't necessarily mean she's alive" angle. Lame.

As far as what that had to do with your post I just giving a little more weight to "your most annoying character". Her presence was annoying, her narration was annoying, her sex scenes were annoying (yeah, I know, Blake Lively), and her screen time was plenty. If nothing else was wrong with this movie this would be a reason not to watch it.

Just my opinion, half of us liked it, half didn't.

By the way, how do you make Blake Lively annoying?

Oh, alright. I definitely get the problems with the movie and it could've been that I liked it more because I assumed that it would be bad before I saw it.

Bad-it was all over the place and even the most intense scenes had reduced impact. Critics seem to be way too kind to this flick. It was terrible.

Have to agree 100% here. I really wanted to like it but this movie was an absolute mess. Benicio was the only one who looked like he was having any fun. Blake looked hot but her character and especially the narrating was just too much. The rest of the leads were awful. Pacing was terrible. I'd say the trailer ruined a lot of the movie but there isn't a lot to ruin. I guess typical Oliver Stone movie. You either love it or hate it. Theater was sold out but I'd estimate at least 15 walked out in the last 30 minutes of the film.

And that ending. Honestly I probably wouldn't have disliked the movie as much if they didn't add on that extra ending. Terrible idea and definitely underwhelming way to end.

Didn't really like it either. I did enjoy Del Torro's performance, I thought he did excellent. I just didn't buy Selma as a ruthless cartel boss though I thought the love triangle was interesting but the leads I feel didn't execute.

I would have have enjoyed it more if they kept the 1st ending. I was pretty pissed that they ended it like that. It's like Oliver didn't have the stones to end it the first way.
