    Ernest Borgnine 1917-2012

He was 39 when he accepted the 1955 Best Actor Oscar for his role in "Marty". For all his accomplishments I remember him best for Marty, Mchale's Navy, and as the bully Fatso in From Here To Eternity.

He was an very talented and accomplished actor and his presence will be missed. I caught a few films with him in it and I was always impressed.

He also played a bit role as a commanding officer in The Dirty Dozen. Also, in the original "Willard".

I remember him as Ted Denslow in BASEketball.

[Denslow's taped will reading] I would like everyone to leave the room, so I could have a private moment with Coop.
            [Nobody moves]
Now that we're alone Coop, there's something I want to tell you. Remember when you had the crabs and the only thing that made you feel better was this lotion? Well I found another use for it! It feels so good, it makes me want to sing! Just like that night we spent in that tattoo parlour in Chicago, come on baby! I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts! And I'm too sexy for my car, too sexy for my car, too sexy by far!

As a kid I always remember him on Little House On The Prairie in the episode The Lord Is My Shepard. RIP Ernest.

He played a great Vince Lombardi and came every year to the Milwaukee Circus Parade.

First saw him in Airwolf along with Jan Michael Vincent. I thought he died a long time ago though. RIP Mr. Borgnine.

I'm surprised Jan Michael Vincent lasted this long.

Kind of sad altogether but should be mentioned, he was also the voice of Mermaid Man on SpongeBob SquarePants.
