Why? It was nominated for best drama last year as well. Unless you mean it's undeserving?

Most of the the drama nominees are spot-on, but Michael C. Hall gets the nod over Timothy Olyphant (Justified) and Kelsey Grammer (Boss)? Phooey.

Also, I wish there was consistency about what is a miniseries and what isn't, especially when it comes to UK shows. Last year, 6-episode Downton Abbey was a miniseries, this year it's considered a full series, yet Sherlock and Luther are still miniseries? Makes no sense.

      Re: 2012 Primetime Emmy Nominations

Based on the shows I've seen, I think the list of nominees isn't nearly as rage inducing as usual. Not sure if the Emmys will ever realize that The Big Bang Theory and Two and A Half Men are terrible, but tons of people watch them, so clearly people are seeing something in those shows.

The only immediate crime I saw was the absolutely egregious annual snub of Nick Offerman.

Series 1 of Downton Abbey was cut into 4 90-minute episodes by PBS, making it a miniseries (British version was 7 episodes). Series 2 was 7 episodes on PBS (down from 8 for the British) making it a series.

Luther series 2 was 4 episodes, making it a miniseries.

Sherlock was 3 episodes, making it a miniseries.

Thanks for the clarification. I've only watched those shows on BBC Canada, and they use the UK cuts, thus my confusion.

I have no idea who's the favorite. I wouldn't bet against Maggie Smith though.

Are you a fan of Downtown Abby? I've never seen it.

Well she did win last year for supporting miniseries (I didn't realize) so that's probably a knock against her, but she was even better in season 2.

I didn't expect to like it, but it was on Amazon Prime Instant and once I started watching the first episode I blew through the first series back to back then immediately jumped online and bought both seasons and the christmas special on bluray.

                  I'll take these...

It was tough not choosing Aaron Paul, but he got his the last time out. It would be nice to see such a veteran character actor like Esposito win a major award in his first ever nomination.

I agree, and I'm a huge fan of Aaron Paul. Even if "Giancarlo" (Gus) doesn't win, it's good that he got the nom.

My picks-Blue is my #1 choice, Green is my #2. If there is only one "Blue" I've seen only one of the performances.

The number of nominations for Supporting Actor shows why Modern Family is such a great show. I went with Ed O'Neill this time around, but everyone of those guys is deserving.

Falco over Poehler is tough, considering the acclaim "Mrs Soprano" has already received over the years, but her performance this year as a rehabbing Nurse Jackie was brilliant even by her standards.

I gave both Julianna Margulies and Elisabeth Moss blues.

Still pissed that Parks and Rec didn't get a nomination.

Really pulling for Claire Danes. She was phenomenal in Homeland.

I dont get how 4 people from 1 show can be in the same category.

Not saying the show isn't funny (im not one of those haters or whatever) but there IS better stuff or more to look at.

Sigh. Every year i see the nominations its a constant reminded at how screwed the Wire was in the award circuit, but thats slightly off topic. I am ery pleased at the American Horror Story nominations as well as another nom for GoT and Peter Dinklage this year

and can 2 1/2 men go away please? Especially that unfunny Jon Cryer.

Am I the only one who is slightly disappointed that Sons of Anarchy didn't get a best Drama nominee?
