    PS3 Audio to External Speakers

I'm sure I could find this with a search, but I'm only finding threads about home theatre systems.

I had this set up once but haven't figured out how I did it since I moved.

If I'm connecting my PS3 to my TV via HDMI, how can I get the sound to my Aux?

All of my other components have RCA outs. Of course, the PS3 doesn't. I tried using the component cable & plugging just the red & white audio cables into my splitter, but no go.

As I typed this I thought about audio output from the TV. Not sure of my exact model, but it looks like all the Samsung Plasma TVs have them. I'm guessing it's 1/8 inch output. Would a 1/8 -> RCA cable do the trick? Would this elimate the need for the splitter by sending ALL audio going into the TV out to the Aux?

I'm almost positive this is not the method I used before.

Sorry for the Audio 101 question. I just play games & watch TV.

Either way would work, assuming you're right about your TV. For your PS3, you have to change the settings, go to audio output and either manually switch it to the AV port or turn on the multi audio out (where it pumps audio to all outputs).

Ahhh. I'm almost positive I used the component cables before. I must've changed the audio settings either before or since. Thanks!

If I have an 1/8 inch->RCA cable laying around, I might use that to simplify things & ditch the splitter.
