Man can't wait for the final episode of this season! Boardwalk has it slow moments in series but towards the end like this season in particular it really picked up. That episode was great.

I hope not either. Initially, I didn't think the series would recover from killing off Darmody. Rosetti has more than filled that void.

I haven't indulged in The Sopranos as most others have, but I felt that way about The Wire -- didn't think any show would top that for me. BWE is changing my mind. I don't know that I've anticpated any show on TV the way I do Boardwalk Empire each week.

That last scene that you speak of was epic. Gripping in every sense of the word.

Could be a harrowing experience for several gangsters. Rosetti included?

Capone's entrance was great and not without some amusement. What about the distrust on Nucky's face?

This show is so much better for me when Al Capone is in the picture, even if its for 10 seconds. Now I'm thinking we'll see a lot more of him in the future.

I gotta say Gyp Rosetti is one of the baddest bad guys in tv history. It cracks me up how short his temper is and just say something the wrong way just a little, you're done.

Excellent season so far, best of the series is happening right now.

              Re: Boardwalk Empire (Season 3)

Such a great episode this week. It was fantastic/intense from start to finish. So many great scenes. Gyp and Chalky's exchange was great and of course Capone dropping the - “I need a bath. Some chow. And then you and me sit down and we talk about who dies.” line was fantastic, as well.

In the past I've been more of a fan of the supporting actors of BWE (Jimmy, Harrow, Capone, Owen, Chalky, Van Alden, Gyp. etc.) and Nucky has been one of my least liked. This past episode changed that a bit for me. It was nice to see Nucky on the run. Also it was good to see how Nucky really cares about Eddie, even though he normally puts him down. I guess Nucky realized that in his most vulnerable moments Eddie was the only one that he could really trust (aside from maybe Eli). Lastly, I can't lie, it was awesome to see the Nuckster go all Jason Bourne on Rossetti/Masseria's men in the beginning. He was sitting marinating on Owen's and Margret's affair, then all hell breaks loose. Again, such a great scene.

I can't wait for next Sunday. As for Capone's final line all I have to say is...
Please don't die Gyp, please don't die Gyp, please don't die Gyp, please don't die Gyp....

I wonder what type of tab Nucky is running up. He'll be somebody's pawn by the time this is over.

I think seeing Nuck's vulnerability in this past ep adds to the sheer brilliance of the writing. Throughout the entire series, Nucky is this egotistical and selfish monster who seems to give care to little outside of himself. For it to be scripted so that we would see an entire different side of him is brilliant.

As for the gent who's tempted to re-watch, I liked that ep so much last Sunday that I watched the encore an hour after the episode went off. It was that good IMO.

That is something I want to see. They both have similar personalities. But, Capone is more controlled. Gyp is uncontrolled and is short fuse.

When I saw Capone, I was like "Oh ****, it is about to go down"

I want to see what deal was made for Capone. I know they werent in bad situation, but that has to be a big favor.

I almost came out of my chair when Capone came out of the crowd. Good old Eli, he has really stepped it up this season.

I have a lingering question that is driving me nuts, and I should have this figured out: How did Luciano and Lansky know about Owen making a visit to Masseria? There were only 5 people in the room when this being discussed, who ratted Owen out?

I dont think they known he was going to be the one to do the hit. I just think Masseria known he was Nucky's henchman.

This show is doing an awesome job of building up and getting better as it goes on much like The Wire and Sopranos did.

They will use a lot of creative licence regarding Capone. Remember that "Nucky" Thompson is only based on "Nucky" Johnson. The real life Johnson never killed anybody or ordered anybody killed. He was also never involved in any turf war with organized crime. This is Atlantic City in the 20s on Earth 2. Good.

With Rosetti you really appreciate his more measured and likable moments. His genuine fondness for the paperboy, his original restraint from reacting to the guy whose head he "shoveled", "Freaking Sinbad", the time he.......

OK, there's not many but you appreciate them.

IMO there is no doubt that this is the best season.
