    Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D"

The Marvel TV show, produced by Joss Whedon, that everyone thought might've been a new Hulk show, will actually be...

    ABC's S.H.I.E.L.D

The project is set in the same universe as Whedon’s Avengers film and follows the law enforcement group headed by Nick Fury. The pilot will be written by Whedon and his brother Jed, along with Maurissa Tancharoen. Deadline reports that Whedon also might direct the pilot too.
The question is, does Samuel L. Jackson go to being a TV actor?

Whedon will write the pilot and might direct it.

Del Toro is still pushing for a Hulk series right?

      Oooohhhhh, very interesting.

Good way to further the story and perhaps provide some guest cameo's for everyone as well.

      I like it. A lot.

From everything I've seen recently, yes. He seems to be the main guy going for it.

Yup. I like it a lot as well. Will be interesting to see what they do for villains and such in the show.

I hope not. A few cameo's a season would be cool but I don't want him to be a main character.

Yeah, I don't expect him to be around all that often.

One other possibility? Much more Scherbatsky on TV!

Yeah, I'd expect this is focused on a small division of SHIELD, will allow them to get out of dealing with the budget for CG helicarriers, quinjets and whatnot every episode.

Yeah, I don't expect Sam Jackson to be heavily involved in this. I'd expect Cobie Smulders' Maria Hill to get a big role in charge of things with the occasional guest shot from Sam.

Yeah I see this as a vehicle for the Maria Hill character and this to be a more down to earth show. Actually I could see it being a bit of a mish mash of ideas from old movies/shows like MISSION:Impossible to old Sgt. Fury comics from the '60s which played up the Bondsian aspect though seeing as how S.H.I.E.L.D. in the comics these days is more of an extension of the Homeland Security apparatus it may just be more like a show such as Homeland.

I can see Sam Jackson involved early on in a season and late in any given season as well. I could see Captain America in an extended guest shot as in the comics he's been pretty much used as an extension of Homeland Security.

That I would be for 100%!

Robin was always my favorite character on HIMYM and she was great in The Avengers.

Hopefully they use this to explore corners of the Marvel Universe that are considered too low profile to make it onto the big screen. S.H.I.E.L.D vs A.I.M? The Hand? The Maggia? Low level supervillains like Taskmaster, Serpent Society, etc.? Lots of possibilities here.

It was announced at Marvel ComicCon that SHIELD will feature Agent Coulson.

On the return of Clark Gregg in Joss Whedon's "S.H.I.E.L.D.": "He plays Agent Coulson. I really can't tell too much more than that because I'd be revealing too much of the show's structure, but we're thrilled to build the show around him. First of all, aside from being an amazing actor, Clark is one of the sweetest guys you'd ever encounter. We cast him as Agent Coulson in the 'Ultimate Spider-Man' cartoon and we got his permission to do his likeness and of course, he voices the character. You've just never seen anybody who's so happy to have this character that's built around him and he' part of this mythology. My best moment is when I said to him, 'Hey Clark, you're going to be in the comics, too. Coulson is going to be int eh Marvel Universe.' And he literally melted, it was like fanboy glee."

On "S.H.I.E.L.D.": "We have incredibly high hopes for the TV show. I think Clark is obviously going to be a huge breakout star. Again, I read, I know what the show's about and I think Marvel fans are going to be absolutely over the moon with it and those people who watched "The Avengers" movie -- not many people who didn't -- are going to be incredibly happy with it and satisfied with it. Those who don't know anything about "The Avengers" or the Marvel Universe are going to love it as well because it's a very unique show that we're creating."

                              So, prequel?

Also not sure how I feel about "Those who don't know anything about "The Avengers" or the Marvel Universe are going to love it as well because it's a very unique show that we're creating." as I was hoping they'd use this TV show to set up, reveal, and fill in things that are a bit important to the grand scheme of things, just really too small to be on the big screen.
