I've been getting strange text messages from the number 1(410) 000-001,002,003, 004 etc. All are spam from say McDonald's, KFC, etc. telling me to eat there. When I text "stop",I get responses like "We've received your request, and don't know why you're such a douche, but we'll process your request. It'll take 24 hours".

They seem to know personal stuff about me, like I'm a postal worker,and my first name is Jeff.

Googling wasn't much help.I registered at AT&T to block this number, but I got more this morning from yet another company and it was political this time.

Anyone know about this and how I can stop it?

I would stop replying. Not an iphone User but just ignore them or put the number on a block list. Just because you replied stop doesn't mean they'll stop testing you. It could actually be opposite and your number gets passed along to other spammers since you replied.

I noticed the messages were in email form, so I registered for free at ATT's website and blocked "all messages sent as emails." The past two days I haven't received any more. Knock on wood, I think I finally solved the problem.
