This looks weak compared to the 2003 version. But i guess their just relying on the 3D promotion.

I can't seem to figure out what this is.
Wiki says it's a sequel to the 1974 one thus continuing the orignal line and imdb says it's another reboot listing it as a remake of the one from 2003.

Why wasn't this a sequel to the second film by Tobe Hooper.....or just work off of the new movies which were pretty good.

Texas Chainsaw 3D, in theaters January 4, 2013, is being directed by John Luessenhop from a screenplay by Adam Marcus, Debra Sullivan and Kirsten Elms. Dan Yeager, John Dugan, Bill Moseley, Alexandra Daddario, Sue Rock, Tania Raymonde, Scott Eastwood, Gunnar Hansen, Tobe Hooper, Paul Rae, Keram Malicki-Sánchez, Ritchie Montgomery, Trey Songz, Marilyn Burns, Shaun Sipos, Thom Barry and Richard Riehle star.

The seventh incarnation is a direct sequel to Tobe Hooper’s classic 1974 film that follows the lead character, Heather, who along with her friends, travel to Texas in order to collect an inheritance. The spin? What would you do if you found out your cousin was Leatherface, and he was now YOURS?

Not really certain why. Halloween did a similar thing when Halloween H20 came out they ignored the movies after part 2. I wish when they make more sequels to the originals that they don't ignore the other sequels whether good or bad.

Christopher Nolan made a good point about 3D films, and how it takes away from the artistic creativity that the director has, specifically one who is shooting a largely dark film (and how you can't make it, well, quite as dark). 3D cameras just can't handle what normal cameras can when it comes to light intensity, or lack thereof.

Anyway, my point is that it just doesn't feel like the other ones; the 3D tremendously takes away from it. I'll probably pass.

Oi! What's going on with this?
I read there was supposed to be the uncut digital release today. The only way to get the uncut is supposed to be digital. I checked on Xbox and it wasn't in the Canadian marketplace but was in the US. Does that mean the Canadian BR release will be uncut?

Seems as if they cut a ton. The run time listed on IMDB is 92 minutes and it's listed at 1 hour 50 minutes on Xbox.
