It comes down to personal preferences.



Two of my co workers have the Galaxy and one has the iPhone 5. The 5's processor and speed was impressive, but again, there's really not much to talk about as far as upgrades to the phone goes. It's a cleaner looking phone that performs well with little to no hiccups..

I just prefer being able to customize more on Androids and not having to go through iTunes any time I want to purchase something or update my phone. It became a hassle for me, after a while.


Are we seriously griping about people being a little biased ? That's what the purpose of this thread is for, for people to give their opinion on the one they prefer to try to sway this guy's opinion on it. He asked for it, so why are we bitching about it ? If he wanted to go the store and ask someone, I'm sure he would have and he still probably will.

There are some hypocritical people around here, judging by a few posts in this thread and the actual iPhone thread.

Why does everyone say the new navigation sucks on the iOS6?

Works perfectly for me. Got me where I needed to go twice in cities I had never been to prior to my driving in them.

But to repeat what others have said: it's all choice, man.

Having had 2 droids and a Iphone(what I have now), I love the IPhone. I know multiple people with the S3 and they love it so I don't think you can go wrong with either Phone.

Say what you want about IOS, third party Apps are flat out better on the IPhone though. I would attribute this to the fact that there are a million different kinds of Droids but only a few different kinds of IPhones. The reason why I love the IPhone because just about every feature works as advertised(except the map app, avoid at all costs!!). Unless someone can completely dominate the IPhone, I don't see myself buying a non apple phone for awhile.

As someone who relies on Navigation software(or a GPS), IOS maps are garbage. Google maps was awesome... I do have the Motion X GPS app and it is great, I don't mind paying the 10 yearly fee because it is that good.

I've used both extensively,(Android-Personal Phone and iPhone-Work Phone) I just like Android's system better.For Example if I have a friend who wants to transfer over a file from his pc to mine all I have to do is connect it via USB and it's there like magic. Having to do almost everything through itunes is extremely annoying. I like having widgets, so that instead of going directly to the app I can have a sportscenter widget up or a quick widget that directs me quickly to OS things like that are why I love Widget and the fact that iOS still doesn't have it is disappointing. As far as Specs the S3 is an absolute beast and it has NFC. If screen size matters to you. The S3 has a bigger display. As everyone else has said it's all about personal choice so go to a store and play with it, but if OS matters to you I prefer Jelly Bean to iOS6

Pretty sure I'm leaning towards the s3 now but still plan on playing with both before my final decision

Lol, don't listen to this guy. He says it's personal preference, but goes on to give nothing but negatives about Apple and positives for Android. I'm not going into this debate but just don't listen to him. Formulate your own opinion because this is about as biased as they come.

Most of the time, when someone has to tell you that they own a device of the brand they are opposing, more than likely they are biased. You asked about GS3 vs iPhone 5 yet he felt the need to tell you he owned a Macbook, how irrelevant was that?

In-store demos, trials, and research is how you make your decision. Let opinions be a complement to your decision because YOU have to use the device, not me, him or her.

Posts like this don't fly here.

Can you be involved in group messages with other iphone members with the SIII? Most of my friends all have iPhones and we do a lot of group messages. I don't want to get individual messages from each person.

Incase you didnt know while you have a iPhone and message other iPhones it is basically like a IM than a text. Very useful if your friends have iPhones and you message a lot.

Forget it, I'll be that guy and keep it plain and simple.

If you just want a phone and use it as is get an Iphone 5.

If you are one of those customize geeks who like to customize every damn thing and show your creativity get a S3.

But to be honest, forget the S3, bypass that and just get the Note 2. It is just a much bigger version of it with a stylus.

Is the Note 2 out already or coming soon?

I was thinking about upgrading to the Galaxy S3 but the Note 2 definitely looks right up my alley.

If it's already out I may look into it, but I've been thinking about the S3 for a while.

I love the Android phone I have but the screen size is an issue for me.

I believe it comes out in November. Oct 23 is a event Samsung has planned, most likely introducing the Note 2 and probably a Note tablet.

The Note 2 fits for me because it alleviates the urge to get a tablet. The screen is just the right size to be comfortable and have a beautiful picture. I'm interested in seeing how the S-pen feels and works.

Same here. I've been hoping that Sprint would get this kind of phone ever since I saw the first Note. Once I heard that Sprint was going to get the Galaxy Note 2, I was like

Good thing I held off on buying myself a tablet.
